Tasted this on multiple occasions now. Good and almost great ;-)
    • Nose
Quite shy on the nose to start with. Pineapple, mango, little green banana. Caramelized sugar (still warm in the pan, you know it ;-) ).
Some citrus and a musty (dunnage?) smell.
    • Taste
Thick, fruity, great stuff, dangerous also as there is no alcohol to be detected at all. Great one, citrus, pineapple, mango. Subtle layer of oak and then taking you back to the fruits.
Full on fruits this one, wow!
    • Finish
Quite long, fresh from pineapple and citric elements. Little bit of spices in the end to punch through the sweet and fruit layer.

very good taste, complex, rich and long finish. Only the price is so high now.

Great to try an old whisky but not one of the best.
    • Nose
      87 87
Tropical fruits, pineapples and mangoes coming through first. Crisp hints of lemon citrus. Some dusty oak cask in there as well.
With water the lemon notes come to the forefront.
    • Taste
      83 83
Big and powerful, a lot of alcohol coming through. Lemon sherbets with some fried pineapple slices.
With water a bitter note comes through and takes away from the fruit.
    • Finish
      83 83
Mostly on the lemons with a sweet sour touch. Light short to medium.

Bottle that had just been opened. A very good whisky, richer and more powerful than I expected.
    • Nose
Very fruity at first: pineapple in the head then a little banana. Orangettes and floral notes. The sweetness is growing more and more, with a little vanilla.
    • Taste
An almost ideal degree of alcohol. Caramel, wood, hints of gingerbread. The bitterness is of a rural order - almost highlandesque - and therefore quite light.
    • Finish
Prolong the mouth with a nice intensity but a very average length. The sweet / caramelized malt is still there, the gingerbread is getting stronger. The country notes remain, while at the end of the mouth remains a memory of ham (light smoke? Light salty?) And, before final extinction, orange bitterness.
