Cheng Chee Kaan
Expert Junior Cheng Chee Kaan Review note

Cheng Chee Kaan gave this whisky 88 points

Nose: Lovely and elegant smell of ginger, and citrus fruits. Full of spice, little bit of mint. After 5 minutes, some dried fruits, like plum started to appear, spirity dried fruits. Hints of cinnamon, very interesting and complex. More wood coming off after 10 minutes, at the same time a lot more fruitier.

Palate:  Very fresh palate, and very soft texture. Silky. Fruity, peach, apricot, bit of nutty. Light oaky notes, not a bad thing here. Plenty of spices, milk chocolate, with some candy sweetnees. Liquorice.

Finish:A slight bitterness, coupled with some nuttiness. Orange peel, tea leaves.

Balance: I was pretty impressed with the nose, complex and elegant. The palate is up to the mark as well. Overall very elegant and palatable.

Price: The price is very affordable for such an old age single cask whisky, bottled at cask strength.

Final: Elegant and complex, fresh and fruity. A very good presentation of Bunnahabhain. This whisky required your full attention, and it needs time to open up. Do not rush it. Enjoy it slowly.

N- Tasted blind. Between borderline of being elegant or closed and discreet. Soft and fruity initially, and need time for it to open up. Dark soy sauce reveals alongside salty plum with more citrus, crushed fresh leaf, greenish and minty.

P- Gentle with citrus peel, broad grapefruits flavours and oriental almond beancurd, soft and rounded.

F- Short-medium, exit gracefully with tinge of bitter root. Lacking some usual muscle from this distillery, a much softer cousin of Bunnahabhain.
