Is it unpleasant? No, no its not, but its a hard whisky to rate highly
if you are really thinking about it. If on the other hand you are
looking for something to drink and not pay too much attention to then
    its pretty enjoyable.
    • Nose
Sweet and peaty on the nose. Some unusual fruit. Mango maybe.
    • Taste
Hmm, I think the thing is that the flavours, whle pleasant, are not
working together on the palate. They seem to be struggling against each
other at least initially. Like somebody burnt the jam onto the pot.
    • Finish
This situation continues on the finish. The fruity flavours seem to
alternate with the peat with neither prepared to work with the other and
      neither winning the fight.

Its too thin and the finish is too short but I liked it. This is the sort of whisky that you can just sit and enjoy for what it is.

A simple pleasure , the profile is very simple but that is why it works.
    • Nose
Not as peaty as I was expecting, very minimal to be honest peat wise.

Orange, candied peal &  fruits, hint of apple, maple syrup
    • Taste
My first impression was not good and that the palate was watery and thin, I was tempted to say rubbish. But then when I got used to it seemed to improve by a mile.

Its fruity on orange marmalade, touch of lemon, kiwi fruit and a touch of peat.

The palate is certainly better after a few mouthfuls but is still a little thin for me but much better for giving it time.
    • Finish
      Short and sweet

Is really a whisky that fits in the "Fiddich-line",
    • Nose
Sweet smoke, just sniff through and you smell ripe apple.
    • Taste
Starts with smoke, apple and then becomes something bitter. You have to get used to it. Roll in the mouth and taste cinnamon.
    • Finish
smoky, unfortunately a (too) short aftertaste. Delicate balance between taste and alcohol taste.

Beautiful bottle, in nice sleeve. Start with a powerful nose, turns into sweet (slightly grim) aftertaste. Finished very short, but beautiful smoke tones. Subtle enjoyment. Within the "Fiddich-line" a great bottle.

Nothing special here, better speysiders and better peated whiskies out there.
    • Nose
Sticky pears. Honey. Red fruits, berries, strawberries, yellow cherry. Superglue. Fortified white wine. A nasty underlying rushed spirit note. Oak. Vanilla. Woodspice.
    • Taste
Mineral and earthy peat, mineral salts, leads on to a lovely grainy flourish with rich molasses, barley sugar and apple/pear juice. Very salty jerky.
    • Finish
Medium length. Incredibly dry and salty. Nice earthy note and some fresh cut oak.

    e150 - 79/100 - Expected more! A classic collectors item :(
    • Nose
Sweet and sugary smoke, quite delicate and inoffensive.
Behind the smoke linger fresh grass, grated green apples, and marmalade.
      Overall a good experience.
    • Taste
Mild and moderate smoke, touch of alcohol, and
slightly bitter. Not as sugary and delicate as the nose promises, and the taste
peat is more medicinal than expected. Cardamom, nutmeg, and a touch of green
      apples.
    • Finish
      Short
and smoky, and does not provide anything new.

    • Nose
Sweetish with a touch of smoke, vanilla, beautiful, but slightly disruptive alcohol. So above average. Only at the Rich Oak 14th level, maybe a little better.
    • Taste
In the shadow of its distinctive smell, malt, gladness passes to the end in bitterness, finishing this whisky quite precipitates.

That i missed from Glenfiddich until now, a very pleasant smoke in the nose and palate. Together with the fruity malty sweetness this a very nice whisky. Long and pleasant in the finish.
