N: Vibrant and youthful, clean and classic bourbon nose - fruity, estery and rather Highland like.
T: Fabulously clean arrival with that Bunna ‘zing’ sadly absent from so many bottings. This is oily, fruity and full of life with oaky, chocolate notes leading into the finish
F: Bourbon chocolate notes with fruits and vanilla culminate in a rather large, long, oily finish.
C: Fab Bunna - what a start to Whiskylive [London] 2015
Scores a B+
RevisitedN: Oily and fruity with strong Glenlivet Nadurra vibes alongside a Linkwood special - now theres a blending thought! And thats just about it, solid and yummy with touches of marzipan and cinnamon and those oranges with lemon
T: Fantastic, vibrant, zingy arrival - exactly what Bunnas do at their best. Spirity yes but the oak is always alongside. Its not always a pretty journey but with every sip I'm won over with its innocently clumsy and intoxicating [fruity/oily] charm. With time,.... the 28yo oak cask leads the development into the finish
F: Chalky and drying but moorish nevertheless coupled with a lingering palate memory and a fruit reprise which continues the journeys end with a good grain-mash presence at the death.
C: So far still the standout malt of whiskylive 2015, day 2.
