Deep, beautiful woody, sweet and round. A walk in the forest. Milk chocolate. Nuts. In the mouth, spices, chocolate. A lot of roundness. Leather. Floral too. Sweeter with time. Very melted at the end of the mouth until the final, which pulls on the coffee. Very pretty. At 44.2%, I did not dare to add water for fear of breaking this beautiful harmony.

    Enthusiasm 4/5

    • Nose
Very nice and complex. An interesting mixture of spices, fruits and perfume-like notes. Men's cake with Christmas spices, a little vanilla and powdered sugar. Furthermore, I can discover caramel, some salt and old, dusty books. Also sour notes of grapefruit and blood orange can be found in the background, which I feel personally as something disturbing. The whisky is at times very immature. The first impression disappears gradually and unfortunately it comes to aromas of spiced apple pie with sour apples and a little vanilla in the foreground.
    • Taste
Middle body. At first creamy and mild. It rushes in a wave of spices and mixes with a fruity sweetness. In addition, nuts, dry sherry, tannins, iodine, forest honey and removes a saltiness. The whole thing is accompanied by umami (roast beef).
    • Finish
The finish is medium with fruity sweetness, spices, some salt and a rim of bitter rancidity.

N: Lovely, rounded & weighted dram, showing both bourbon and sherry cask traits. Viscose, oily nose, not too far from Clynelish
T: Quick, nippy and chalky with a green, milky sourness. Better with a drop of water, then showing oily brie and cottage cheese notes.
F: Buttery, oily, vegetal sweetness - a mild sweetcorn note with creamy brie equalling the cottage cheese.
C: Interesting, multitudinal cask action and although I’m a fan of this distillery in general, i’m not sure i like this particular style so much.

TASTING NOTE LMDW: Nose: Spicy and greedy. Notes of vanilla, orange peel, green apples and cut flowers. Palate: Ample and intense. Fruit cake, salted butter caramel, honey and lemon. Finale: Long and sweet. Some notes of spices persist.
