Exciting malt with a great nose - for the perfect balance, the citrus oils are too dominant, the port notes are beautifully integrated, never put on or dominant
    • Nose
Delicate sweetness, old wood flour - wood grinding dust, subtly spicy and herbaceous with no tangible aromas, very waxy with a little orange oil, fruity sweet and sour orange with a touch of mint, if you let the glass rest rises sweetened old lemon - firmly interwoven with old creamy oak - green tea and the scent of orange blossom and jasmine - slightly warmed up the fruitiness wine-like - grape juice with a soft touch of port wine fills further fresh fruity nose, tobacco, rosemary, leather, some resin, nutmeg, some lavender It looks very elegant, round and ripe - everything is beautifully interwoven and flatters completely unalcoholic of the nose.
    • Taste
sweet and sour oranges, dry, spicy oak tartling that flits up the tongue pepperily, orange oil and mint tickle on the tongue and cool and warm at the same time, spice and fruitiness keep long the balance, in which they take turns in the foreground - and eventually the seasoning the upper hand wins - wood dusty chocolate with orange peel and orange zest, some leather and fresh tobacco, tree juice The second sip starts very fruity and is then immediately spiced. With a bit of chewing fruity portnotes are released. The malt can deliver fresh sparkling fruitiness and old ripe flavors beautifully interwoven, making it very complex and dynamic.
    • Finish
chocolaty, nutty, slightly warming, dry, orange oil - medium - seasoning, wax and orange oil very long

For a long time now a Mannochmore in the glass, this time a Mannochmore 1982 CA: Thanks to @Torfding for the FT! So far, I have not really become warm with the character / bottlings from this distillery, let's see what they can do. The Portreifung sounds quite promising. Nose: I find myself immediately in a wood workshop again, Holzstaubaromen pour into the nose. Behind it are very floral soap flavors, harsher "old" notes, some tobacco and also a little fruit, especially apricots and light grapes. The port keg is noticeable if at all very remote, the soap dominates. Palate: Without adding water, it is a bit too hot for me today, the tongue burns properly, it opens up nicely with water, becomes sweet, the slight pepperiness remains on the tongue, oranges wander through the mouth and strong oak spice fills the mouth and nasal cavities. Again, a soapy feeling remains in the mouth Finish: Again and again, a peppery spiciness from the throat fires back, but the mouth is happy about a long lasting sweet and fruity combination without great bitterness. Rating: Interesting Mannochmore, which is a bit too spicy, the soap notes are a bit overpowering, the orange notes in combination with the oak spice, in turn, quite wonderful. Man, Mannochmore, you keep dropping me back and forth. 88 points

    • Nose
light, bright fruits; fresh / "summery"; Apricot kernels; subtle, subtle oak; indefinable "spice cloud"
    • Taste
sweetish, then dry and strong; Red fruits
    • Finish
very warm; oily mouthfeel remains; short, slight bitterness; In the meantime, however, some oak remains
