A little day and night for me. A little badly damn (for a whisky of this caliber) without water, really at the height with a slight dilution. An interesting profile of sherry "little greedy" (explainable by the use of a barrel refill), mature and dry (25 years of European oak in your mouth!)
    Whisky n ° 1290
Enthusiasm 2/5 without water, 4/4 with!
    • Nose
Big sherry a little anonymous, with some notes "moldy" that I have trouble naming. A non-greedy sherry on the other hand. This relative austerity is accentuated with water, or dry oak notes stand out as well as coffee.
    • Taste
Smooth on the attack, sherry is gaining momentum - impeccable alcohol integration. Moist but a little unbalanced aromatically. With water, more vivacious on spices, juicy even, we also find coffee.
    • Finish
Impressive. With water, woody, with cooked fruits and bitterness.

In this nectar everything is beautiful.
    Very cool sherry.
    Right reference ...
Nose: ripe cherry, cherry, dessert plum
Taste: extraordinarily easy to drink for such a fortress ...
The finish is long. Directly pick out the teeth you need ...

Excellent balance (23) I lick the old oak table on which everything was! (91)
    • Nose
Decayed fruit ... cardboard ... dry barley .... spices and citrus ... gelatinous bears ... walnuts ... in fragrance slips dohyatina and it's cool ... (23)
    • Taste
Spicy wine ... pepper and walnut ... violets and bells
    • Finish
Finish sweet ... viscous ... dry and fruity ... pistachios and tobacco ... sword belt ... a drop of varnish ... prunes ... chocolate (23)

Outstanding dram which is exactly what I love to have when I wanna have a sherry whisky. Also worth its money (175€ LMDW)! Well chosen LMDW!
    • Nose
Give the dram some seconds then you may get the fully palate of a lot of different flavors. I have dark chocolate, pepper, some cherry, mocca, apricot and very decent leather. Very nice!
    • Taste
So the dram gets sweeter in the mouth where I have cherries (even Black Forest Cake), honey, apple, tobacco, apricots and pepper again. I love it!
    • Finish
Excellent finish where the full palate reminds for several seconds in the mouth!

A very beautiful sherry, little sweet, it develops leather aromas, feeling of dust on the tongue. It's elegant bitterness wood is present but not disturbing, it's balanced, no sulfur.
Only the nose is in withdrawal. Maybe because of the degree, but I did not feel the need to add water.
A good 90 that can evolve upwards.

Not especially my profile even if the whisky remains of quality.
Blair Athol VW 1988 came out cheaper in 2014 (about 80 €) for equivalent qualities.
    • Nose
Varnish, glue, old wood. the alcohol is not very well integrated, there is a big vivacity.
With aeration, we guess herbs, brown sugar, traces of coffee and pear. With water, the alcohol is reduced, there are yellow fruits, coffee, a little earth
    • Taste
Powerful, rather dry, lacks a little balance. Notes of wood, chocolate, coffee, peppers, dry herbs. Water does not offer more aromas.
    • Finish
Long, on oak, pepper, bitter cocoa, herbs. the water brings nothing here, a slight bitterness persists.

Nose brown sugar, dust, caramel and woody. The palate is very full, vanilla, caramel and iodine. The finish is warm and has a slight bitterness. A good, hard-to-reach dram that swims well, requires time, ventilation and attention.
