    During a recent stay at an all-inclusive hotel, I was met with a very limited choice of whisky options: the infamous Canadian Club, VAT69, and another blend I have never even heard of. Do I really want to review THIS bottle? Well, let's get on with it. On the nose… Hello? Anyone there? Indistinct corn sweetness, alcohol and some grassy notes - that's it. Maybe it's not as bad as I thought? I am proven wrong. Harsh and watery at the same time, this tastes like a sweetened, oak-flavored vodka. Thank God, the burning finish is short to nonexistent. Seriously, no.

    As expected. Good to go with a Coke or a Ginger Ale. Otherwise it is a spirit without any character.

    easy drinking, rye, vanilla, caramel

    Well what shall I say. Tasted a dram of this at the start of a lineup. Thank God that the quality of the other bottled was much better. Let's be short and clear about this one: nice for in the cola, but please do not try this at home. Weak, no depth, sweet etc.

    But what can you expect of a whisky at 14 Euro?

    • Nose
      Sweet nose, heavy grain, honey, oatmeal biscuit, a little roughness around the edges, a touch of candy sugary sweetness.

      With water - a touch of cardboard.
    • Taste
      Acidic, astringent oak is very strong, quite vegetable.
      With water - oak is tempered down but remaining flavours are very vague. Some caramel coming through.
    • Finish
      Medium, oak is very prominent still, a little spice.
      With water - short/medium, vague oak

    This Canadian is certainly the ideal for long drinks; But he is also absolutely pure edible and interesting. Good price / performance ratio!
    • Nose
      light, mild, cereal (cereal bars), some wood, nice vanilla;
    • Taste
      first a light, mild onset, vanilla, cereals, increasingly spicy rye flavors, pepper, ginger;
    • Finish
      medium-long, spicy, dry;

  9. maltaholic scored this whisky 75 points Connoisseur

    Fruity, creamy, light, uncomplicated, slightly speaking, ...
    but tasty.

    OK.
