      Intense, full, deep, pleasant. Slightly sweet. A very intense caramel. Maybe even butterscotch, only less sweet. Gestures, sweet brown cream. There is a trace of a plant or herbal note. Roasted brown sugar. Some spices. Pepper.
    • Taste

      Sweetness. Caramel. Full, intense flavor. Lots of spices. Very spicy language, even sharp. Chili. Black pepper, but even stronger. A very intense caramel.

    Bakers 7yo Bourbon 53.5%. Purchased Nov 2018, consumed July 2019. Aroma is very woody - fragrantly so - toffee and petals, very high-quality wood here. Beautiful, complex woody spiced notes, some dried petals. Some green grassy notes. Beautiful. Top class. Taste is also very woody, fragrant petals, Jasmine, oily body and richness. Dry oil vibes - the spirit almost evaporates off the tongue immediately. Dense and compact spirits. Crayon-like vibes and hot spirit fight through the toffee. Mostly booze heat on the linger. Lacks depth on the finish. In the end it was quite one-dimensional but as punchy as you like. A mixed bag but a very good bourbon on the whole.

    Room temperature when drinking: 18 ℃

    Viewing Eyes: Copper Gold

    Smell Nose: A lot of organic reagents, cream desserts, heavy sugar cheesecake, banana syrup, cherry jam, French pudding, alcohol stimulation is more obvious.

    Taste Palate: a little lacquer, caramel, soufflé, egg tart, roasted banana, the warmth of baking, gingerbread man, cinnamon and vanilla at the end, good balance

    Finishing: Medium, cocoa powder, milk chocolate, whipped cream

    Body: Medium, soft, full of fat, slightly bitter bottom, smooth body

    Added two drops of water, smelled of floral soap, and also appeared burnt scorched rubber paste, mild smell of fermented cheese, orange peel cake, very obvious red bean porridge and cereal porridge, fresh taro, and even A hint of Wujiang mustard

    The entrance has more citrus aromas (orange fruit), fruit tart, orange blossom essential oil, cream cake, banana and jackfruit, and weak dried dehydrated durian. The red bean soup appeared in the ending rhyme, and the wine was slightly loose.

    Nose: 84/100

    Palate: 83/100

    Finish: 83/100

    Body: 84/100

    Overall: 84/100

    Overall: It tastes smooth, gentle and powerful. I like red bean porridge.

    a super intense balanced soft bourbon,
    very good quality, a clear premium US whiskey of the upper class
    • Nose
      somewhat reserved, soft and pleasant, no trace of glue or unpleasant alcoholic note, typical sweetness of corn, vanilla
    • Taste
      oW: strong, voluminous appearance, lots of aroma on the palate, strong character, lots of vanilla and oak, but needs water;

      mW: softer and more aromatic than without water, a lot of sweetness and vanilla, very soft in the mouth, subtle wood notes, no disturbing factors
    • Finish
      medium length finish;
      medium-long strong spicy aftertaste

  13. schengel10 scored this whisky 82 points Connoisseur

    In the meantime already tasted a few bourbon, so far my best - the price of around € 52.00 is justified!
    Full, powerful, strong, aromatic = simply good!
    Color [mahogany]
    • Nose
      like corn, caramel, dark toast, ripe yellow fruits, spices, vanilla, oak;
    • Taste
      with a little water: powerful, strong, oily appearance; Nuts, caramel, honey, full rye seasoning, ginger, oak;
    • Finish
      long, strong finish, very spicy; aftertaste: coffee, somewhat bitter;

    Should be enjoyed neat. Alcohol is well integrated. Time and air helps a lot. Altogether a multi-layered whiskey, really quaffable and quite affordable as well.
    • Nose
      Pure: liquorice, oak, freshly ground pepper and allspice. Some dry herbs (thyme and rosemary), nutmeg and fresh ginger. Then freshly ground aniseed seed. Becomes milder with time and some air. A few red berries and a bit of leather at the end.
      Water brings a certain alcoholic spiciness, which fades quickly, then some cooling menthol. The pepper and the spices recede. Instead some vanilla pudding with caramel sauce.
    • Taste
      Freshly ground black pepper, beside a beautiful sweetness and spices (cloves, nutmeg and allspice). Oily mouthfeel. Despite its high alcohol very harmonious and soft. Dark chocolate (>70%). Water brings liquorice, the spices condense with a little caramel to Ricola sweets, some cooling menthol. At the end freshly broken branches and some wormwood.
    • Finish
      Long and intense, pepper and herb candies linger. Warming and mouth filling.

    Tasty as usual, good Bourbon for 55 €, this batch comes in the nose very dry over, almost dusty, no glue, in the mouth then particularly fruity (for Baker's), red berries, cherry, nut and lots of wood

    In contrast to the old bottle shape, this one was not drinkable right after opening. Bitter and spicy. Water only made things worse.
    I then transferred the contents of the bottle, which did not help at first. But after several months !!! it got better and he approached the old bottle.
    In the meantime he is excellent again! Not as good as he was in the old bottle.

    That's a Bourbon, I really like it. Not my "loot scheme", but it's good. The taste impressions of Xaver I can only join, without repeating it here now (are below).

    Unfortunately, I don't get into the subject of bourbon. Sorry!
    It will be my last. Only the Eagle Rare 10 did it to me. I always have it on the shelf. I gave up everything else. I'm not the type to do it. But this bottle is sure to be a good bourbon. That's why I leave the numerical rating neutral on average.

    • Nose
      Sweet, fruity and also directly stimulating (alcohol prominently present). Citrus, vanilla, also candy-like, winegums. Banana, and spicy, cinnamon
    • Taste
      Stinging, warming, sweet, honey, vanilla. Winegums again. Caramel. Creamy mouthfeel.
    • Finish
      Somewhat bitter now, very light peppers. Sweet, winegums, vanilla, honey. Coffee now too. Pretty long aftertaste, later also soft and warming.

    A nice bourbon.
    • Nose
      Sweet and full, slight prickle, vanilla, caramel and spices. Cinnamon, 'speculaaskruiden', woody notes, fruity with citrus and banana and after a while there is some candy.
    • Taste
      It remains sweet and full, vanilla and caramel, some coffee. It's creamy with a slight bitterness.
    • Finish
      Espresso with a chocolate, oranges, creamy, banana and some tobacco and leather. Medium length.

    Sweet and tasty ....
    • Nose
      The colleague will hit you soon, sweet vanilla with a lot of caramel in the nose. Cooked fruits, come in the form of pear, apple, apricot. From the background comes a slightly sour note. Toasted bread with butter and some fresh leather. A cool touch. Something like mint.
    • Taste
      But strong, slightly bitter-nutty onset. Seasoning pushes, but then immediately makes room for the sweet vanilla caramel candy. The freshly toasted toast with butter is also found again. The second sip is also the cooked fruit. Pear and apple. Has something of fresh melted dark chocolate.
    • Finish
      Medium. Staying creamy with sweet espresso.

    At first, a little closed, it reveals the note typically solvated Bourbons. Chocolate after the first sip. In the mouth, well done: cherry, a little sweet almond, it lacks a little development maybe to pack me completely.

    Enthusiasm 3/5

  28. KayMeertens scored this whisky 84 points Connoisseur

    84/85.
    • Nose
      Vanilla, green apple, raspberry and wood. More sour when adding water, 'zure matten'.
    • Taste
      Spicy. Wood, raspberry, vanilla, wood, blood orange and caramel.
    • Finish
      Vanilla pudding, raspberry, blood orange and caramel.

    Was not sure at first try if I prefer it over Knob Creek, but in direct Comparison this one even wins due to its longer finish and smoother taste. On the nose I prefer Knob Creek.

    A fine top draw bourbon with a lot of balls.
    • Nose
      A very strong intense nose of Raspberry jam on burnt toast, after I added a bit of water, there was old leather chair, wooden chest, Victoria plum and ripe banana.
    • Taste
      I tried this neat at first, I have tried other cask strength bourbons neat and they have been fine, but this needed water to calm it down and make it smoother, and it worked fine, really nice creamy taste of red fruit, sweet vanilla, fresh dough and summer fruit pudding.
    • Finish
      It has quite a buttery, long liquorice stick finish, with crème brulee toffee and a bit of mint on the death.

    A very nice Bourbon, the more time you give it in Nosing, the more pleasant fruit notes are added to the overpowering vanilla caramel. Overall, a top whiskey for the summer, for the cold evenings in winter but it lacks then finally a bit of complexity.
    • Nose
      Very soft, intense vanilla and caramel notes kick forward immediately. Something apple compote and dark raspberries are felt, but lose the fight against the sheer power of vanilla and sweetness. In addition, there are distinct toasted flavors from the toasted barrels and a very well-integrated alcohol, which is felt only in the form of a fresh breeze.
    • Taste
      Very strong oak drives the salivation immediately. The malt glides oily and almost buttery over the tongue. Sweet again with vanilla sugar, caramel pudding and macadamia nuts. The alcohol is also well integrated here, only after more than 10 seconds in the mouth begins a pronounced tingling on the tongue.
    • Finish
      Silky soft and mild with creamy toffee, vanilla and, at the same time, clear oak tannins, which stimulate the salivation even further long after swallowing.
