Whisky Reviews for Arran 12-year-old
10 users have left a review for this whisky and scored it an average of 81.59 points
- quite tasty on the nose - it is too hot on the palate
Pear, pineapple, sweet lemon, very delicate oak notes, a touch of coconut, some acidity from the barrel - with some airing not sprittig
sweet - sour with a fruity acidity that reminds me a lot of pineapple and pear, again sweet lemon slightly thick, lively, spicy
pretty short finish - after the fruity start, he is spritig and then he is already gone ..
More intense than the 10-year-old. Bright fruits with some glue. A trace of coconut.
Apple, pear, peach. Pepper and nuts.
- well ...
flowery, sweet, spritly, apple
very flowery, fruity. Orange, apple, sprittig
- A well made, solid dram. I think it's on par with the current 10 yo. That one - despite its younger age - is more refined and has a higher complexity, this one has more punch obviously due to the higher ABV. I guess I have a slight preference for the 10yo. 83/84
citrus, raspberry, fino, crème brûlée, white chocolate, a touch of salt.
stong, sweet arrival, acidity tunes in of apples, apple peel, lime, slightly unripe papayas, caramel, peanuts, then some black and green pepper, ripe papaya.
medium length mainly on papaya, pepper and white chocolate.
- A sweet
and fruity Arran with little to no peat and sea influences. Needs water to
open up. Please note that this a special batch made for the offical sample
bottles (different alcohol %).
subtle fruits appear, like blueberry, apricot and citrus, but also unripe
('green') fruits. Then a sweeter layer with creme brulee and a hint of
cream, milk chocolate, followed by tropical fruits (pineapple and kiwi) and a
bit salt and roasted coffee
full and warming (a bit spicy too), vanilla, pineapple sweets, in the end a
bit drying with a whiff of smoke
- Exotic cask strength whisky with a touch of sherry.
Concerning price/performance ratio: 7/10
Citrus, pear, spirit, sherry, caramel, lime, apricot, exotic fruits. Get's sour after a while.
Citrus, a touch of sherry, hay, oak, cloves.
Medium. Spices lingering around.
