All in all, I expected more of this whisky. He looks pretty much like the Bunnahabhain XII with some other accents. The higher alcohol percentage does add something to this whisky. But that I say "Hey, I have to have that" No, not that again.
    • Nose
Soft sweet aromas of sherry, fresh wood (cedar), herbs and nuts (pine kernels)
    • Taste
Sweet notes of sherry and honey, slightly salty, vanilla, spicy (cloves and pepper) and soft notes (walnuts?). Has a fresh mouthfeel.
    • Finish
Has a medium finish, with aromas of herbs and fruit. And has a spicy stimulation in the throat (pepper?)

A blended malt consisting of whiskies matured for up to 20 years old, high quality flavors and aromas adventurous types the Bunnahabbain Darach Ur. The name is Gaelic and leave freely translated as "New Oak", a reference to the new, American oak barrels in which the distillate has matured.
Bunnahhabbain Darach Ur is produced in small batches, un-chillfiltered, and there is no use of additives to be pure and fresh flavors and aromas to retain. Out well for us, the relatively soft low price makes him a winner in our opinion!

Honey sweet sweet piece of Islay? Why not? Pleasant whisky, for everyday relaxing sipping.
    • Nose
Honey, nuts, sizzling fruits, varnish, vanilla and cocoa. I would not have liked to compare her to the recently tested Glen Garioch 12y, they are very close to the type.
    • Taste
At first it is sweetish, it turns to spice over the wood. It is quite full, it grows mature. In the middle reverberation the tanned wood prevails, the toast's impression.

Excellent dram and such good value. Such a shame it is travel retail only.
    • Nose
Peat! Gentle smoked fish and strong tannins with the gristy malt.
    • Taste
Juicy oranges and strong tea. The fruit and tannins develop a wonderful interplay in a mildly fizzy way.
    • Finish
Lovely, long, mouth-watering finish. The clear malt and the oranges are chased around the palate by the tannins.
