Nice old Caperdonich. In the finish it gets a little thinner. But it is incredibly tasty for the drinking strength. Full review (german): https://keinehalbendrinks.de/2020/12/21/old-rare-flight-004/

    ‘Not for the faint hearted’
N: There’s plenty of variety to discover here - mineral hues, candy sweetness, raisin-date-honey-ginger cake, savoury=sweet ripe fruit crumble, vanilla custard, lemon drops, dank malt, cooked chard, herb-infused dough, Swarfega and soot - right up my street. An interesting and challenging nose with rewards of curiosity.
T: Not for the faint hearted even at 40% or diluted further! Oily and slightly peppery, theres a bitter>malty>fresh biting point that precedes the beefy/woody development that provides a heavy, dry, vanilla & liquorice chew.
F: More of the same which means more diligent chewing and ‘phewing’. Very dry bourbon notes continue at a steady pace.
C: Its clearly over-baked but [to my taste] the benefits are at least equal to the negatives - but you’ve got to be in the mood for oak.

    Scores a C
