What a dreamy spring bench! The Bourbon Hogshead has given this spinger a wonderfully soft yet voluminous character. Sweetness, fruit, smoky peat and spicy wood notes alternate harmoniously, the bottling does not appear overloaded and impresses with its complex and multi-layered nature. Delicious!

    • Nose
Rich straw shines in the Premium Snifter, many small "legs" come loose from the streaks adhering to the glass wall. Yellow fruits and minimal peat rise sweetly from the glass, hints of citrus fruits mix with caramelized sugar and dark vanilla, the peaty note becomes more intense, subtle maritime influences are added. The fruity note is expanded to include apples, pears, pineapple and apricot, a touch of cold smoke is released from the gentle peat note, meadow herbs and a hint of licorice are added. The nose is incredibly soft and smooth, grassy and floral tones are gradually added, the subtly acidic citrus note increases.
    • Taste
Tart and spicy wood tones lay over the tongue after the first sip, hints of dark and roasted malt end subtly sharp on the palate, zest of orange and lemon peel ends with slightly smoky grapefruit, plump warmth floods the palate, dark caramel and old walnuts stick to the cheeks, the salivation is extremely stimulated at the moment. Liquorice and citrus fruits exude their slightly dirty and sour aroma, dried apricots and juicy pears end in increasing sweetness, honey and sweet caramel melt in the stimulated saliva. The mouthfeel is incredibly complex, voluminous and powerful.
    • Finish
Intensive warmth still sticks to the palate, the mouthfeel becomes dry, sweet sugar and fruit juice drips from the tongue, walnuts and wet leaves stick slightly smoky on the palate. The mouthfeel becomes creamy and greasy, the sweetness increases, as does the intense walnut aroma with hints of cedarwood and dried tobacco leaves. The aftertaste fades away nuttily with a wonderful mouthfeel. Wonderful!

Blind tasted and I did not even wonder that this is a spring bank. Thanks Winni. Oh yes: HAMMER MALT
    • Nose
First comes to meet a whole fruit salad, but quickly flies, then it becomes a sweet lime, a grassy note is added, in between a sweet honey melon flashes through, with time, the nose is always mineral and perfumed
    • Taste
Very dry onset with lots of yellow fruit, very mineral and salty, orange peel, sweeter with time
    • Finish
The fruits dominate and the oak spiciness plays around the whole, mineral-rich remains the finish beautiful long and powerful
