"Built on the site known locally as ’the smugglers glen’ this was one of the first distilleries to install a Saladin box for malting which is still used to this day. Straw yellow from a refill barrel, this is very fruity on the nose. Pear drops and a hint of smoke are followed by melon, paw paw and cantaloupe. Tasted neat it fizzes on the tongue, the light fruits remain as does the smoke. With water the fruitiness becomes moist like a fruit loaf with butter on it and the taste has a bit of spice. This fruity simple dram takes time to open up and makes a great aperitif."
