- Mannochmore 1998-2014, 16 years, 46% alc.
Bottler: Spirit of Scotland (Gordon & MacPhail)
Extension: Bourbon barrel (Hogshead) no. 5270
Region: Speyside, Scotland ... Nose: Sweet and with floral notes, soft. In addition grassy flavors, turf, meadow. This is followed by citrus apricots and peaches, also a little apple. Behind it then vanilla and honey. Overall, it almost looks like a fruity but not too sweet syrup. In the background you can also see some malt and oak, very mild spiciness. Palate: Dry and strong, summer fruit and malt. Then follow directly a bit sharper spices: peppers, pepper, cloves and chili. The sweetness is less pronounced and is found only in a tone of heather honey again. The oak, on the other hand, gets stronger. Departure: Dry and very long, many spices and dry oak, which remains for half an eternity. The spice is not bitter, but tingles nicely on the tongue. Conclusion: Not quite round, but with a magnificent nose!
