- Another good Signatory bottling
Tried it both with water and neat. I prefer it neat.
Mild on the nose.
I get the alcohol, but it's not overwhelming. Perfume, ripe pears and marmelade.
First a punch of alcohol, then a slight medicinal taste and then a bowl of Kellogg's Frosties.
Long and full of honey roasted (almonds?), it's dry on the back of my tongue and the roof of my mouth.
Another day: the finish reminds me of buttered toasted bread with marmelade and it just keeps on lingering. Wonderful.
- Nice fruity and strong Macduff, really enjoyable one.
Light fruity, lemon tea, citrus, a bit chalky. Also a lot of sweet notes, vanilla. Alcohol pretty dominant.
Pretty peppery, strong, sweet, peach, a bit of licorice, orange, honey.
Still pretty heavy, peppery, peach and honey sweet. Pretty long.
- This was for it's price the almost perfect dram (in the right categorie of course...) The down point was the nose where I found a chalk/minerally quality, almost like springbank. Nothing wrong so far but it was playing a bit too loud, or the other aroma's where too shy perhaps? Anyway, it made the nose a bit focused and one-dimensional.
That's a pity because the taste was great, and the finish even more so! That one in particularly was a real extension of the pallet experience and lingering on and on. Excelent!
If it was not for the nose I would be buying a bottle for sure! Still, not bad to have on the me thinks...
