Another interesting maturation by Edradour. This one is marching in the sweet red fruits meet plums with some pre-Christmas time direction.

    Concerning price/performance ratio: 8/10
    • Nose
Sweet wine (some sweet red wine), dried fruits, sweet ripe red fruits, brown sugar, plums, berries (jam), some vanilla.
    • Taste
Sweet wine (some sweet red wine, some hints of PX), dried fruits, ripe plums, some cloves and cinnamon, nice texture.
    • Finish
Medium. Ripe fruits, plums and oak.

Well balanced young wine cask matured single malt scotch, as good as the complete range, but I prefer the Baralo cask matured.

    Tasted on 28/08/2015.
    • Nose
Grassy, hints of red fruit, raisins, honey.
    • Taste
Leathery mouthfeel, but the whisky is round and in balance. Sweet and warm; it needs to stay in the mouth for a while to be fully appreciated.
    • Finish
      Medium-long finish, sweet, honey.

Fat thing, it makes your mouth water. One of the best from this series.
    • Nose
heavy, sweet, dried fruit, a little walnut, candy and the typical "Edradour muffle" (in a good way), earth, old leather ... some water tickles still pickled cherries and sweet red wine notes
    • Taste
fat, sweet, spicy, full-bodied, smacking. Dried fruits, cinnamon, gingerbread spice, sugar beet syrup, a hint of plum jam, grape nut chocolate ...
    • Finish
... long and warm, bittersweet, tobacco and leather

    I
liked this one the best, as it was less drying and more cask-forward. Overall,
these are all descent whiskies. They lack depth and twists to propel them to
hit-status in my book. I liked the first-fill sherry Edradours much more than
    this.
    • Nose
      Less
drying and more spirity. Caramelized oak chips garnered with orange juice and
honey. A medicinal note emerges with some air – faint antiseptic perhaps.
    • Taste
      Juicy,
with ripe oranges and soy sauce. The unlit matches are back, or in other words,
a touch of sulfur. Icing sugar, cinnamon, and saw dust.
    • Finish
      Medium.
      Minted shortbread and caramel.

Edradour 2006-2014, Super Tuscan Cask Matured, Batch 2, 46% alc. original bottling
Aging: Super Tuscan wine barrel (batch of 24 barrels)
Region: Highlands, Scotland Nose: Old leather jacket with red fruits, grapes, wine cellars and barrel staves. The whisky is very dry in the nose and therefore somewhat alcoholic. In the background quite earthy, slightly musty aromas: moist wood, must. Palate: Oily, very intense. With dried fruits, berries and a subtle sweetness. Behind it pretty much wood, oak, cedar and spices. With bitter caramel, leather and sea salt. Finish: Long and slightly bitter, with plenty of wood and some green pepper. Conclusion: Interesting, edgy and not really round.
    81/100 points (tasted 2015, approx. 55 €)
