Easy drinking ... Otherwise I can not describe this Glenmorangie. Acidic fruit flavors, tart wood and walnut aromas make me simply "scavenge" this Nectar d'Òr. Not particularly, but a good all-day dram.
    • Nose
Dark orange flavors blend with roasted aromas and almonds immediately. Intense honey and malty sweetness mix, a touch of vanilla is added. A subtly sourish grainy note pervades the creamy sweetness, the sour flavor becomes more intense and gives the aroma of Glenmorangie a special touch. An indefinable spice note rises from the sourish fruit, fresh and clear exudes the Glenmorangie his idiosyncratic aroma. Citrus fruits are discreetly in the background.
    • Taste
Spicy fruit and wood aromas dominate the first sip. The sour aroma of the nose is reflected in the taste again, dry and tart wood elements mix with the fruity note. A multi-layered spice mixture (nutmeg is definitely there) gives the fruity apricot and peaches a peculiar aroma which I do not feel negative or disturbing. Butter and walnuts are mixed together, tart wood aroma comes to the fore, while sour grapes are over the entire aroma.
    • Finish
The harsh wooden sharpness sticks at the beginning of the departure for a long time between the tongue and the palate. Slowly, these sour flavors are added, honey and fruity apricots are also in the finish to advantage. Slowly a bitter walnut aroma is created. With this harsh walnut aroma and tart grapes in the background, the finish gradually fades away.

If you like white wine, this is your entry whisky!
    • Nose

Intense sweet. Caramel, honey, ripe pear, peach
    • Taste

Typical white wine taste comes back: peach, pear-like. But also a little bit harsh and light unfortunately.
    • Finish
      80 80
      Little of noticed

    Color: Deep Gold

Lots of wood and not much Sauternes, fits well, not only to taste of wine, the whisky, at ~ 50 € but no enthusiasm storms.
    • Nose
Wrinkled apples, soaked honey bread, overripe grapes. Dry wood, nutmeg, promises to be edgy. Herbal tea.
    • Taste
Not as snappy as expected, dry, light fruit notes, woody pears, even more wrinkled apples, average "flowers" honey, some lilac? Herbal and peppermint tea.
    • Finish
Rosehip tea, malt beer, black coffee.

    Glenmorangie Nectar D'Or 12 yo | 46% | 22 + 21 + 19 + 21 = 83 pts
N: Fat cream cake, vanilla, dessert wine, honey, caramel, banana and peaches.
T: Sweet, almost cloying. In the taste of a banana souffle, marshmallows, muffins, honey pastries.
F: Semi-dry, slightly astringent, tart. Light bitterness of a tree, sweet confectionary, honey.
B: Quite a pleasant dessert molt, a good balance, sensible work with a barrel.

Benefits greatly from oxidation in the opened bottle. Barely bearable upon first opening, after some time it becomes a real charmer.
Honey, almonds, mead, marzipan, citrus zest, creamy rich sweetness balanced by soft acidity: it's like a baklava with a dash of lime juice. Lush and lovely, with enough of a kick from the oak (and the 46%) that it's not just fit for those who cherish softness and smoothness in their single malts.

Perhaps not something you'd want every night, but every once in a while...

I have no quarrel with this one. :)

Considering that this is basically the Original with a couple of years in dessert wine casks it is actually not bad. Shows what a difference a couple of years in good casks makes. Goes down rather easy.

N:Vanilla mixed with white grapes and a bit of cinnamon
P:Fruity. Juicy. Some cream. Wood kicks in adding a little spice and tannin.
    F:Quite quick, slightly astringent.

    • Nose
Citrus fruits, honeydew, hints of oak wood, coconut, dry hay
    • Taste
Little punchy, creamy, little sweetness, a bit oak wood, no more fruitiness
    • Finish
Medium long, warm, a tad bitter like unripe walnuts
