- a beautiful PX bomb, although I can not claim to be able to distinguish PX from Oloro to any doubt. He is always delicious!
Pur: something closed even after a while in the glass. One guesses the heavy sherry board, quite (berry) -fruchtig thereby. With water: as I have often seen at Glendronach, it opens wonderfully, the well-known Jaffa Cake Aroma, more fruit, espresso beans, dark hot chocolate sauce.
Pure: here immediately full, a little sharp start, but then wave by wave chocolate, kirsch, orange syrup, mousse au chocolat. Soon also some spices, but pleasantly balanced. With water: creamier, overall "lighter", so more fresh orange and milk chocolate, maybe a little too much water caught.

- I am still excited. When I tried it a year ago, I gave it euphoric 95P. After this round, it remains at an excellent 93 points.
Directly a full load of sherry aromas, fruity, but also a decent portion of seasoning, since the barrel has done a good job, the alcohol is very well involved, dried dark fruits, plums, raisins, heavy, in the background is milk chocolate, espresso, old leather, hints of pepper, with longer rich the chocolatige side is always clearer, also nutty, liquid grape nut chocolate, a hint of mint is also there
full-bodied, very sweet starting, strong, fruity, chocolate, here now rather sweet than spicy, then comes the oak, becomes drier, a little salt, espresso on the palate, still covered in chocolate, but now rather dark, the overall impression is then but rather spicy than sweet
the last piece of chocolate melts in the mouth, grape skins, it tingles salty under the tongue

- This whisky lacks the typical acidity of the distillery. The smell is overwhelming, but the palate shows much less sherry than the nose can expect. The oak is very present and unfortunately the whisky is too alcoholic. Nevertheless, he likes me. The whisky wins with water. He gets milder on the palate. I rarely dilute, but it makes sense here.
Sherry without end. One can clearly identify the Pedro Ximénez. Sweet raisins, stollen, balsamic cream. The alcohol is noticeable, but not disturbing. In the background is oak. After a while, the sherry steps back a bit. Approaches of honey and caramel show up.
A strong start is in contrast to a silky soft mouthfeel. The consistency is almost creamy. The alcohol is a bit too spicy. The second sip makes it better. Immediately shows half-bitter chocolate. Behind it lies a strong spice from the oak. After he was less sweet than expected in the first sip, he shows in the second sip gentler and also quite sweet. A reminder of salt makes me think of soy sauce.
Very clear oak. Spicy and bitter. Burnt. Long and slightly astringent.
- A gorgeous malt! It has everything I like about Glendronach and sherried whisky in general. It is complex, savory, and sweet but not too extreme to make it a situational pleasure. As far as I know, vatted bottlins like these have been very rare in recent Glendronach history.
Very fudgy and full of dried fruit. Figs and plums primarily. All-in-all, typically ‘Dronach so far. Then there are liquid Werther’s original! With a few minutes of air, the dram explodes with cinnamon sprinkled oak and roasted almonds.
Full-bodied arrival and very drinkable at this Vol. Savory and sweet. Vanilla sugar, soy sauce, and currant. A little licorice perhaps, as well as hints of white tee. It really is a mix of the 15yo Revival and the 18yo Allardice. Honey and mild tannins initiate the satisfying finish.
Medium-long. Spicy… almost briny, and more toffee. Raisins and chocolate, with a pleasant touch of cappuccino.
- Hallelujah, what a shit (Sorry!). I can hardly remember the last time I had such a wonderful drop in my glass. Full points. Absolutely awesome.
Dark, deep PX notes. Dark, overripe fruits, plums, dates and some blood orange. Full, heavy chocolate tones. Old leather, fine tobacco notes. Clear cinnamon flavors are slowly coming and above all the dark fruit sweetness. Nothing is noticeable from the alcohol.
It runs soft and creamy on the tongue. There is a pleasant warming sharpness. Then the PX barrels strike. Dark fruits, creamy chocolate. Then follow the spices, tobacco, espresso. Very light bitter orange, but really only very subtle. The sharpness is reminiscent of ginger. Oak seasoning, cinnamon, nutmeg. In addition, nice caramel.
Long, soft and wonderfully complex. It is not a single aroma that remains, but the entire melange.
- eyes: soy sauce
nose: At first it was sulfur, old books, sweet syrup and Chinese medicine. After a while, it smells preserved fruit, dehydrated dark berries. Flavored, turmeric powder, pink pepper. There are also dried plums and sour cream. At the end there are shredded tobacco and smoked wood. It has a medicinal odor throughout, and the smell is relatively dense.
palate: After the entrance is a dessert covered with cream and preserved fruit, followed by heavy spices, probably cloves, nutmeg, cinnamon and fragrant amomum. The barrel taste is more obvious, the sour taste is medium, the ebony is dried, a little Chinese medicine. The second half is still cream cake, dark jam, black currant and toffee.
body: medium weight, a little fat, more tannins, astringent, less irritating, medium bitter bottom
finish: long, spices (ginger powder, ground pepper), syrup, wood, old newspaper
