Great red color, for the age still very fresh and fruity, not very complex, but very tasty, easy-to-drink, makes you in a good mood
    • Nose
A basket of red fruits, cherry juice, redcurrants, red plums, vanilla pudding, oak, a light chili / curry catch in the nose
    • Taste
Red grapes, currants, again the cherry, very beautiful influence of porches, a lot of wood, nevertheless very creamy and malty
    • Finish
      Dry, fruity, oily, medium long

  3. theograph scored this whisky 90 points Expert Senior

Wonderfully sweet and sour alike. Acts old school and is it, the Port Finish beats strong but very beautiful!

Old blends in cask strength, I think just awesome!
    • Nose
Subtle fruit notes, sour / fermented fruits and still sweet. Raspberry balsamic balm.
    • Taste
Extremely soft, at the same time sour and totally sweet on the palate, Demara sugar, Aranzini, rum fruits, leather, lavender, oak.
    • Finish
Sour cherries, leather, Aranzini, furniture polish, grappa, many dark and slightly acidic and fermented fruits, raspberry and balsamic balm, exciting and multi-layered nose!

  4. Mascht scored this whisky 88 points Expert Senior

a nice old malt, soft and oily, with great port wine flavors
    • Nose
      88 88
At the beginning a heavy sweetness, honey, rum, beeswax, many dark fruits like plums, blackberries and blueberries
    • Taste
      89 89
soft and oily, many aromas of port wine barrel like blackberry and blueberry jam with strong oak
    • Finish
      88 88
      medium long, oily, port

  5. Marko_I did not rate this whisky Connoisseur

Top, this dark fruit without too much sweetness I find very delicious!
    • Nose
very strong / alcoholic -> sip of water -> intense herb-dark-fruity (blackberries, black currants, black cherries), juicy, very spicy, dry wood, only a very light sweetness
    • Taste
very fruity currant jam, port wine, dark chocolate, dry, spicy oak ... very full-bodied and full-bodied, but velvety mouthfeel
    • Finish
long, slightly fruity, a lot of dark chocolate, some pepper

  6. Sjaunja scored this whisky 89 points Specialist

Fantastic, easy to drink, very creamy vatted malt.
    Highly recommended!

  7. mister glenfarclas scored this whisky 88 points Connoisseur

Wonderful stuff. However I'm quite surprised how lively this whisky is after 25 years.
    • Nose
Strong alcohol, powerful Port. Lots of dark, fermented fruits. Very spicy. Rich oak. Appears somehow wild for 25 years. Kinda feisty. Is there some smoke hiding in the back?
    • Taste
Powerful start. Initially sweet. Strong alcohol. Sweet, fruity Port. Spicy oak. Little bitter. Blood oranges. Surprisingly fresh. No smoke in the taste.
    • Finish
Quite long finish. Very malty. Staying sweet. Not dry at all. Quite some spicy oak.
