Fruity, lots of malt, summer hay drying in the sun. Not peaty. Nose and finish are unimpressive. Taste is OK.

Very short finish. Malt and alcohol. Not much going on.

Fine smoke and pleasant peat nose. It is a little greedy all the same, with the influence of Bourbon which is essential, vanilla, citrus fruits, iodized freshness. White fruits, on plums and grapes. In the mouth, it's the same, it is difficult to recognize the Islay profile, the peat is so well integrated and discreet, it is very vanilla. Finally, a fairly long and good finish, charcoal, earth, bread nuts, nuts, hazelnuts, cola, heather. Hot chestnuts.

Appearance: Medium to dep amber orange.

Nose: Peat smoke, iodine, campfire, caramel, bonito flakes, vanilla, hint of lemon, malt cookies, ginger, cloves.

Palate: Sweet caramel, campfire smoke, oak, vanilla, iodine, sea salt, malt cookies, apple, lemon.

Finish: Smoky, salty, vanilla and caramel.

With Water: Cinnamon-ginger snaps in the nose, mild, smoky, spicy.

Overall: Smooth and easy drinking with a nice smokiness but not mind-blowing. Very malty and rich. A bit pricy though.

The bottle still sits 3/4 full in my bar. I found this to be an off putting whisky, the best taste note I can muster is that it tastes like an old tackle box and not in a good way. Take a pass.
