You can still tell his youth very much.

First creep: it won't be? I'll let him breathe a little longer ... Yes, yes, at least a little: sulfur. But initially it doesn't matter. Fresh and fruity with grapes, grape seeds and raspberry sauce. Mildly spicy, looks young.
    • Taste
      86 86
On the tongue no more trace of the sulfur impression, as if blown away. Red candied fruits, dry, spicy. Marzipan, nougat, chopped almonds and hazelnuts.
    • Finish
      85 85
Quite short, but dry and fruity-sweet.

An okay Glenfarclas, with nice orange chocolate and a little oiliness, but also tart sides, especially on the finish. Surprisingly good for its young age!

  4. Bene37 scored this whisky 80 points Expert Senior

Nose: full and sweet, brown sugar, spicy wood, oranges, dates, raisins, perfume note, some milk chocolate and nougat cream, some lovage

Palate: Present with a strong attack, brown sugar, tart woody spice, oranges, nougat cream, note of pepper, somewhat snappy, the aromas hardly come into their own under the strong attack

Finish: medium length, warm, nougat cream, some orange, slightly metallic

Evaluation: the nose is chic, the rest brute and unbalanced, the young age is noticeable. It's a pity, it started well, but then it goes full alcoholic twelve and doesn't allow any aromas to develop. Softens with water but remains unbalanced and poorly integrated.

    80/100 or 4/10

  5. Tomek scored this whisky 80 points Expert Senior

Smell: plums, cherries, cherries, toffee, ripe quince, milk chocolate, molasses, something rotting
Taste: sweet, toffee, dark chocolate, red fruit, overripe apples, anise
    Finish: bittersweet, dry
    Grade: 3

Well-made, young sherrymalt with a great, long finish.
    • Nose

Sherry barrel, minimal sulfur, but doesn't bother me at all. Slightly metallic, oranges, raspberries, honey, lighter aromas of apples and green grapes.

More open and friendlier with water. Stronger sweetness, Christmas cookies, cinnamon, vanilla and speculoos, the metallic is gone.
    • Taste

Young. It comes across as a bit metallic and alcoholic. Raisins and dates, moderate oak bitterness, a bit of pepper, dark chocolate.

Water is good, the oak and youth are weaker, the whisky becomes more chocolaty and nice malt notes are added.
    • Finish
      85 85
Amazingly long, sweet, light spices, a little pepper

N: to be the master, here, in the context of an open and very low-alcoholic whisky, is malt: a malt that does not hide its youth, but rather exhibits it proudly: and it is good !, because there is no the usual saccharine note of candied fruit, but deeper notes of fermented malt, of washback ... Par of being in the distillery! Then, hazelnuts and almonds; blood orange; shades of red fruit, of wood. Wet barrel, and like ginger spice and a hair of pepper. Egg yolk. As proof of the already solid structure, water (although superfluous for alcoholic impact) opens and opens the most juicy and fruity side. Ah, we still had some ... P: very clean and pleasant, with a fresh but enveloping body, almost oily. The citrus is reaffirmed in the foreground, together - again - to the true protagonist, the malt: this however is more 'vegetal' here than on the nose, less from 'distillery': it has a very pleasant herbaceous sweetness. Barley! Sugary and dangerously drinkable. Herbal infusion; honey. It remains simple, if we want, but a truly amazing simplicity, full and mature in its own way. A beautiful suggestion of zabaione. The water does the same magic as the nose, opening on a caramel and still on the fruit. F: clean and delicate, and guess what? The malt vincit omnia. A well-made malt by a flawless distillery that does not need wood scraps to give flavor to your product, even if so young, for the current waiting horizon (even if, on this question, you give a look at Davide's article ...). Direct, sincere, at the top. Congratulations to Andrea and Giuseppe, the choice of a malt so ... malty and so little ruffiano was not at all obvious: and a drop of water, keep in mind, you will end a bottle in half an hour! We unfortunately added it only when our malt was running out, otherwise we would have explored that side a lot more http://whiskyfacile.com/2014/11/21/glenfarclas-2006-2014-ob-for-milano-whisky-festival-495/
