Fresh and spicy wood, pure chocolate, pencil shavings, glue, orange peel and anise.

Creamy bitter sweet, brown sugar, hints a bit to bourbon, Anise, tobacco sour note, little bit of karamel.

In the development, Drying tannins, a bit of fennel and a small peppery note.

    Finish:

Quite long, dry and more fresh wood.

    Very beautiful! More please.
    • Nose
Coconut, bourbon glue, cotton candy, wet wood, some mint, popcorn, creme brulee
    • Taste
Strong onset, straight oak tones but no bitterness, a bit peppery, the coconut is there, maybe a little orange
    • Finish
Rather restrained, but he holds himself, the oak tones and sweetness play nicely on the palate, slightly bitter in the end, but a nice spiciness dominates

  9. Sandman scored this whisky 83 points Connoisseur

This is not what one would expect from Glendronach, more bourbon style than the normal sherried style. It's quit fruity and fresh for a cask strength whisky.
    • Nose
Citrus, fruitcake, vanilla, honey, oak, blackcurrant, tangerine and raisins
    • Taste
Fresh apples, lime, oranges, honey, hint of pepper and marsmallows
    • Finish
      Medium, fresh fruit, cirtussy, oak

  10. DramTimeNL scored this whisky 87 points Connoisseur

Very surprising and buttery virgin oak that reminds a lot of a bourbon but also has typical GlenDronach tones. A clearly successful experiment!
    • Nose
The nose is very soft with notes of sweet oak spices, soft fruit like roasted apples, something of that sherry whisky in the form of sultanas, some sweet barley and in the background very light herbs.
