Whisky Reviews for Ledaig 2005 PS

3 users have left a review for this whisky and scored it an average of 88.29 points

Net, fresh, crisp, fresh, salty. Worthy of a big Laphroaig! Sparkling fresh fruits that warm on the side of the cherry plum. On the palate, at once very sweet in texture, on the fruits, and on the other hand, vivacious with spices and leather. Obviously, there is peat but it does not put so much ahead the smoked side as the maritime side. Final with a strong return of salt and a lon aftertaste on vanilla sweetness. With water ... um, too late my glass is empty!

    Enthusiasm 5/5

Another Ledaig 2005 pleasant. Less powerful than many others, it is certainly more balanced and easier to access. Good
    • Nose
Pepper, peat, light wet dog. Much less marked by vanilla and wood, than some other Ledaig 2005. So much the better.
    • Taste
Nice balance, it's rich. Pepper, spices, peat, liquorice, seawater. Very powerful.
    • Finish
      Very long: liquorice, pepper, salt

A bottle certainly young but who knows perfectly forget it: it's clean, clean, complex and not too expensive yet.
    • Nose
At first, fragrant scents of fresh and juicy fruits, just crushed (yellow apples, pears, peaches), sprinkled with a little farm cider; then, from 15 minutes of aeration, more earthy and mineral fragrances emerge then adding volume and complexity. A discreet veil of smoke animates the background.
    • Taste
First, mineral notes and a little grassy, then fruits become more mature and more numerous (especially exotic), subtly warmed by a little spice (sweet pepper) and covered with discreet volutes of ash smoke.
    • Finish
Moderately long, with fruity notes tinted by the sweet bitterness of a black licorice and then languishing on the ashes of blond tobacco.
