    what ColdAesthetics writes
    • Nose
      heavily cooked apricot jam, herbs

      light plastic note
    • Taste
nice spiciness, the apricot jam from the nose, some plastic and soap
    • Finish
the apricot jam gets wet and he walks slowly

  2. nallacam scored this whisky 87 points Expert Senior

Wonderful nose, then he weakens a bit ....
    • Nose
      89 89
A nice rum note, pickled raisins, mirabelle schnapps, reminds me a lot of cognac, extremely! A light touch of medicine, bitters. Caramel and cooked fruits.
    • Taste
      86 86
Pleasant mouth-filling. Yes, a certain Bruichladdich grade (sharpness) also has this. For 27 years a very tingling start. Unfortunately, the subtle nuances are not so clear anymore.
    • Finish
      86 86
Long, barely bitterness on tap. But also no fine fruit notes, rather slim but long.

  3. ColdAesthetics scored this whisky 87 points Connoisseur

A beautiful Laddie, nothing earth-shattering, but super drinkable and beautiful combination with the light fruit and freshness.
    • Nose
Beautiful, slightly more luxurious Laddie, orange peel, beautiful hearty oak, hints of Heiderauch, the light stable of Laddie, but also some salt, beautiful malt, honey and vanilla in the nose, red apple
    • Taste
Here also first the Heiderauch, some earth, orange peel, the salt and vanilla, dirty malt, but overall only medium body, red apple with shell
    • Finish
Red apple, fresh malt, heather meadow, lemon zest, some pepper, dry fruity, medium to long

  4. hs305 scored this whisky 88 points Connoisseur

[December, 2001]  Together with friends I emptied bottle no. 2523 that I bought for 119 Euro (232 Deutschmark) in April, 2001.

    In my old rating system (ten scales that translate into WB points: 50 - 66 - 75 - 80 - 82,5 - 85 - 87,5 - 90 - 92,5 - 95) I scored it 87,5.  My notes state a very balanced malty and honey-sweet profile.

[September, 2010]  I had another dram during a FoSM club tasting.  We drank bottle no. 02507.In

  7. Hemdl scored this whisky 93 points Connoisseur

Great dram, without question. A Bruichladdich, who is now many decades old and has a different style, as it is known today. Fresh and light, yet expressive and with beautiful aromas. The "old hands" in the whisky business probably already know him, for me impressions of these old laddies are so far rare. If you can try it, it should do it, it's worth it.
    • Nose
Light red fruits, vanilla, honey, slightly salty sea air, some spicy oak, orange peel, minimal smoke. All this shoots through my head as I lift my nose over the glass. Strongly aromatic yet very elegant and soft at the same time. This is a gentleman who does not fall into the house with the door but knocks softly but urgently. Gorgeous!
    • Taste
The nose gave it an idea, the palate makes it clear. Very light, yet aromatic and full-bodied. Smokier and earthier on the tongue than in the nose, but the flavors can be found here too. Some salt, clear smoke, oranges and some vanilla. It's very interesting that the oak grows a bit stronger as well - no wonder at the age, but not as it often brings with older bottlings clear bitterness. That just fits. Very elegant and fresh, despite the age.
    • Finish
Wonderfully juicy and no bitterness or dry mouthfeel. Again, very fresh and smokier, as you know it from today's Laddies. The spicy smoke / citrus mixture remains in the mouth for a long time, even if the finish is rather medium in length.
