- Cardboard lemon vanilla, not very interesting.

Dailuaine 17 yo 1996/2014 (51.9%, Archives, hogshead, cask #10607) Colour: white wine. Nose: very same style as that of the Signatory, with just a little more citrus and more vanilla. Other than that, same-ish waxiness, malt, and notes of fruity hops. Well, Californian IPA. A little lemongrass. As they say in whisky blogging, ‘nice!’ With water: some linseed oil, grapefruit juice, and muesli. Swims well. Notes of fresh brioche, near-yeasty. Mouth (neat): it hasn’t got this burnt malt, it’s rather got oranges and honey, plus tangerines. And, indeed, sweet malt. Pleasant fatness on your tongue, it’s pretty oily malt whisky. With water: a touch of coffee-schnapps. Choose your coffee, choose your schnapps. Finish: rather long, malty, a wee tad burnt just like the Signatory. Oranges are back in the aftertaste. Comments: all fine. Excuse me, all nice.SGP:551 - 83 points.
- one of the many good drops, which otherwise finds its way into the big pot of Johnnie Walker production
Citrus fruits, light oak, malt, vanilla> a promising Speyside
a grassy rearing, slight bitterness mixed with sweetness, very stimulating and then unfortunately everything is over
Honey, banana, lime, almond, vanilla sugar, beeswax, caramel and tangerine.
Honey, lime, caramel, vanilla, almond, beeswax and tangerine.
Honey, lime, almond, caramel, orange and chestnut.
- Nose: Interesting, complex nose. Lots of red fruit, some caramel, flowers and an brown sugar. A little hint of citrus.
Initial taste: sweet and sour sauce..... sour candy sugar. Very weird but not unpleasant sour.
Body: thick and oily
Finish: long. The sour candy sugar comes and goes.
Price: well it's quite a bit of money, but I think it's fairly priced.
Presentation: looks good on the picture.
Comments: This was a sample from a sample swap with hvdree. And my very first sour whisky
- A nice dram with, above all, a well perfumed and complex nose.
Sample without dilution.
A burst of lemon zest, then grapefruit skin, a dash of orange juice. Then, parade of white fruits: white peach, pear, white grape juice, a little apple peel finely bitter. A bit of oaky vanilla and almonds to coat everything. Then everything stabilizes on the fine bitterness of citrus, with spicy strawberry tips. Hay, too. In short, it is complex, fragrant and very nice.
Gourmet texture. Quite simple. Nice balance between sweetness, acidity of citrus and small hints of bitterness very nice.
Average length, in the same register.
