[May, 2017]  This is the stuff you get at the end of the regular distillery tour, however I advice to pay the six GBP extra for four additional drams (including the 10 year old Single Malt and the peated 11 year old Traditional MacDonalds).  According to the distillery staff the whiskies in this blend are four to eight years old.

This blend however is exactly what it is - a light blend. Okay as a blend for a price tag of around 16 Euro, but I spare my liver cells for more delicate stuff...

Its colour is pale gold and the texture shows fast thin legs and many small tears. The nose is light and fruity-sweet, quite okay for such a blend.
    • Taste
      73 73
The taste is light and slightly bitter (heavy tannins, probably another victim to virgin oak casks), I do not like that and even a blend can do better on that dimension.
    • Finish
      75 75
It arrives with a warming and slightly peppery feeling, and no coating at all (what of course cannot be expected for this price). But at least the finish shows some nice flavours of chocolate and barley sweetness.

Something of a session dram for when you want to slip into the arms of Morpheus, rather than savour the flavour of something more exotic.  Not bad for the price.

Better to ignore it and turn to the blends of large distribution.
    • Nose
If marked by alcohol, despite the low abv, that little is happening here: a little cereal and hum .... some fruit, in the distance. Really not engaging.
    • Taste
The palate is rounder, more appealing too: cereals with a little honey and some spicy fruit, but a woody bitterness rises too fast. Still missed.
    • Finish
      Despairing length and platitude.
