Nose: Sweet barley, tropical fruit (melon, pineapple, kiwi), tangerine citrus, slight spearmint,
Palate: Straight - packs a punch! The fruit from the nose has become dried, a saltiness is appearing. With water - wow! Amazing development into bolder fruit flavours - which are now "juicy". But there's a new kind of dryness now. Almost like dusty old books. A very interesting flavour to have in a young whiskey. Vanilla, some oak
Finish: Clean, crisp and quick. Although not much remains after a minute or so, I think this would work well as a good ram for a hot day - refreshing.
Final thoughts: Although it's a single malt, don't expect a Scotch profile. This is unique stuff. I has become of my "everyday" whiskies, and one that I will certainly buy again (I actually already have bought another cask 11).
