Whisky Reviews for Aberfeldy 1970 GM
4 users have left a review for this whisky and scored it an average of 79.67 points
- Plasticky, synthetic, bitter, metallic, unbalanced, with a slightly pukey taste to it. Flat and cardboardy aftertaste, and then it becomes even more bitter. The nose is tolerable, only hinting at the taste to come. A disappointing dram.
- N: Sweet, honeyed, oak, E150a, some fruity boiled sweets [synthetic lemon/orange], hint of washing detergent, light cacao, nut husks, apple cores, sugared and oven baked pear. Another malt that has a murky and blended profile.
T: Honeyed - savoury sweet - chalky - bitter rose hip tea in that order. Starts off medium bodied, thins, then congeals slightly before becoming very drying, peppery and sour
F: Seems like some fairly new wood and some young spirit too with a salty, woody, sour rose hip finish with a smoke from charring after a few minutes.
C: Started off ok but didn’t improve on that. Not disguising but lacking inspiration.
