Pretty good, old style Bowmore - better than the Bowmore 1965 OB with the seagull label but not as good as the Bowmore 1956 OB with the seagull label. Personally I also prefer the Bowmore 1972 for Prestonfield over this one.
    • Nose
Hints of grapefruits, lemons, and also notes of vegetables and little grassy
    • Taste
Citrus fruits, subtle sweetness, again hints of green fruits, lemon zest, little oak wood
    • Finish
      Medium long, warm

Appearance: Golden brown, a few legs.

Nose: Wow! Quite intense, lovely sherry wood, slight whiff of smoke, then some barbecued meats, chocolate, raisin, orange, tangerine, grapefruit, very strong citrus notes in general, watermelon, mango, apricot, candied and crystallized fruits (almost fairy floss), dank moss and earthy undertones, vanilla, herbs, menthol (noticeably hot on the nose), honeycomb, slight tar, exotic spice and tea. Very complex, a compelling nose that shows it’s full colours with haste. One of the best I’ve tried by a long way.

Mouth: Oily (almost silky) and rich, quite some punch for 43% ABV but not too prickly, very well rounded, a smorgasbord of tropical fruit as expected, not cloying but still very sweet and luscious, dripping candied citrus and stone fruits, pineapple, very slight smoke and espresso coffee qualities.

Finish: Not too drying, medium to long, fruits bursting and lingering, coating the back of the palate, grapefruit sourness, coffee notes hang on and a caramel kick right at the back end. Amazing.

    Absolutely gorgeous!
Nose- the power of delicate fruit, it is without, a lot of leather, tobacco. Smoke is a beautiful complement that covers nothing. There is some furniture polish, sherry oak gave the best to the distillate.
Taste - Full, Delicate, there is wax, old wood, a lot of herbs and fruitiness, Although only 43% immediately fills the mouth. Delicate smoke combined with light earthiness.
Finish - Long, nice lots of oak, fruit, tobacco and vanilla.

Old school style, depth and complexity.
    Fruity, smoky, extremely enjoyable

Lacks a little abv strength, but definitely did not disappoint despite high expectations

Raised +1 point after second tasting.
Due to quite low ABV it uncovers much more when tasted alone.
It's oily, syrupy character unfolds, developed in each aspect really - fantastic dram!

Pretty lemony and grassy on the nose. On the palate it actually confirms the nose. It is full of citrusy, lemony and also grassy. There are subtle notes of oak wood and some balanced sweetness. No doubt it's a good one.
