There is a little honey and a load of crystallised fruit on the nose, hints of peach, pineapple, lime and I swear I can smell something similar to lager??
I have never identified lager in a tasting note ever so this is a first for me where whisky is concerned, it could be a cereal note I suppose?
If you leave it in the glass for a time it reminds me of syrup & pancakes.
A nice nose anyway
On the palate all the fruit is there with a nice dollop of spice and the fruit is stewed to the maximum here which I think is great and gives the palate greater depth. There is a little dryness in there but nothing to worry about and a very slight bitter note but again within acceptable levels,
Some honey comb notes are there with a sugared lemon, orange & lime taste, exactly like those thin sugared jelly segments coated in sugar that are always around at Christmas time and now the spice note is increasing with time in the glass.
I really like this, I do not think water is needed, perfect without but with a few drops (3)
The nose is not as expressive but the palate has even more spice and possibly a trace of peat but it is faint otherwise not much change so still good.
The finish is good medium length with a nice warming honey and citrus feel to it.
It is a sweet one for sure but the balance is really great and there are so many flavours.
I love it.
