Was a terrific bargain at the time, really good stuff when you're in the mood for honey+fruit turned to eleven, without getting any unnecessary complexity or roughness.
    • Nose
Was my very first Irish whisky at the time. A friend poured it blind to me. I swore it was some kind of first-fill bourbon middle-aged Balblair, but with less minerality and more honey. Turns out it was the beginning of a love story with Irish whisky. This review is from my memories :P
    • Taste
Drinks surprisingly easy for the proof, great alcohol integration. Industrial banana sweets, liquid honey, pears, ... epitomical middle-aged Irish in retrospective, actually.
    • Finish
Sweet again, extremely honeyed, but soon some light bitterness at last. Still fruity.

  3. KayMeertens scored this whisky 85 points Connoisseur

    85/86.
    • Nose
First very sweet. Pears on syrup and green banana. A clear grassy touch as well. Perhaps some pine forest. Then more vanilla and strangely a clean kind of alcohol that first wasn't there. That's normally the other way around. With water first more creamy caramel, but eventually fresher like green apple.
    • Taste
Sweet apple, grass, banana foam candy, vanilla, peach dragees, pepper, caramel and a touch of raspberry. With water also caramel.
    • Finish
Vanilla, caramel and an artificial fruitiness like banana and apple candy.

  4. Bishlouk scored this whisky 89 points Connoisseur

Very balanced, a basket of ripe white fruits. It is very pleasant to drink, fresh, easy to access. I particularly like the nose and the mouth; the final a little less.
    • Nose
Hyper fruity, fresh, grassy, and floral. Green and ripe yellow apple, vanilla. A bouquet of small yellow flowers. I feel like I'm in a clearing after the rain.
    • Taste
Sweet pear syrup. But really, I have the impression of having syrup in the mouth! Besides the pear, full of juicy white fruits (white peach, ripe nectarine) and some marzipan. Not complex, but sweet and very pleasant on the palate. Alcohol is perfectly integrated.
    • Finish
Average. Peel and zests of fruits. Slight bitterness. Small woody tingling.
