- http://kaypingers-whiskyblog.de/frontend/fullarticle.php?id=262 Color: rusty red / amontillado-sherry Nose: plum jam, oranges, leather and tobacco, smoky malt, peaty earth, creamy vanilla and toasted sherry casks with perfectly integrated oak aromas. There are fried, peppery ham bark, BBQ and brown cane sugar. It continues with balsamic, humidor, elderberries, iodine, sports bandages and medical notes, which are all brought together in "one" ingenious nose. Taste: Soft, round and harmonious-spicy. Oranges, liqueurs, blue berries, plums, tobacco and maritime-salty. Notes of caramelised brown sugar and tons of honey with smoky peat and medicinal notes. Together, this results in a really cute overall package. Finish: Medium to long - wood sets in and floods the still sweet BBQ honey notes. More peaty, smokier and earthier. The medical notes of iodine, ether and sports bandage stick to the palate. Note: Class Laphroaig, kept pretty sweet and therefore more than suitable for the "modern age"! 93 points (Nose: 94 / Taste: 93 / Finish: 92)
