Unfortunately, I was not knocked out by this whiskey with its qualities. As for me, it is an average blend, not different (apart from the years spent in a barrel) from other blends. On the plus side, its sweetness. On the downside, it's flatness and the alcohol I feel.
I definitely won't buy a bottle, these are not my flavors
    • Nose
      81 81
medium intensity, fruity, apples, caramel, mild alcohol
    • Taste
      80 80
sweet, sugar, honey, slightly spicy, cloves, leather syrup
    • Finish
      81 81
medium long, quite sweet, with notes of honey bitterness, the end is slightly spicy, warming

Nice blend. The only reason why I bought it was that it has 50%. Round enough but the grain I think steps too forward. Definitely not a memorable one.

Nice blend and I think the price is justified. Not particularly complex, but easy to drink.
    • Nose
light smoke, oak notes, citrus fruits, some mint, light fruits
    • Taste
nice fruity start, light fruits, malty, slightly sweet, some citrus fruits, very slightly pepper and spicy, oak and a very slight hint of smoke
    • Finish
slightly smoky, sweet fruity, caramel, vanilla and nuts. Quite soft, berries come at the end

Definitely a better price-to-performance ratio than the more established older blends. The 50% also help. Can't say that I got much grain on the nose or the palate, either, so this one's definitely recommendable.

Softly peated, with savory old oak and a typical ex-bourbon cask lemon freshness. Pretty pleasant.
    • Taste
      88 88
Juicy, fruity attack, crisp and steady mid-palate, with the oak and the peat coming in last to round things off. Not overly complex, but boasting well-defined flavors that develop in a sequence, much like a similarly-aged single malt. As on the nose, it toes the line between fresher and more obviously aged components.

It's only here that the grain becomes noticeable. Still very okay, though.

just slightly “darker” in taste than the regular 12, still a very drinkable and approachable blended whisky, at 50% abv, too expensive though

N: Bourbon-casks lead the way with a modern oak character directed towards, clean & straight vanilla.
T: Same as the nose. A little zingy though even with water.
F: A little peat is welcome addition that compliments the bourbon notes nicely
C: No resemblance to the 40yo WB, expect in brand name only. Strong in its own right however but largely unmemorable.

    Scores a B-
