    Not a bad cask whisky.
    • Nose
Contains echoes of honey, caramel, pear candies, baked apple rolls. Deeper - dusty hay, dried wood, foliage.
    • Taste
Vanilla, honey, a drop of lemon juice, pepper, tannins.
    • Finish
Medium duration, dry, harsh. First - honey, icing sugar. Then - citrus sourness, ginger, old bitter walnuts and a lot of oak.

Like Kilkerran, it is a distillery that has chosen a beautiful orientation and that reaps the fruits of it. For this price frankly it's a gift! www.passionduwhisky.com
    • Nose
Nose: It's rich, unctuous, green apple. Lemon freshness. Whisky cream. It's fragrant, it has body. What marks is the aromatic concentration of fresh fruits.
    • Taste
Palate: The alcohol is controlled. Spicy vanilla. Apple, orange. A drop of water will explode the fruit, apple still, melon in the lead, but also marzipan and can be petals of roses. It's generous, ample, just perfect.
    • Finish
Final: There is good wood, a flock of pepper. Chocolate. Again from the apple, melon of cavaillon melon.

Sweet and honey. Vanilla burst and some wood influence. It is rather difficult to work your way around the alcohol. With water: It gets nice and fruity. A bit of pears, hint of oranges and some apples. Taste:

Again sweet. Little hay. Some chalk. Then a hit of vanilla, toffee and some stewed apples.

With water: The fruits come more forward, but not much of a change.Body:

    Full and creamy

short-medium length. There is some wood in here and a bit of sweet and sour. It also develops rather fruity. Sad the finish is rather short.

With water: not much of a change!Price:

Very good price-quality balance! Found for around €45,-

Decent, all the info is on the label.

Batches of this Arran 12 CS vary concerning the fruit profile. This one is quite well done.Concerning price/performance ratio: 9/10
    • Nose
Citrus, pear, apples, some sherry, caramel, apricot, exotic fruits.
    • Taste
Citrus, a touch of sherry, oranges, fresh hay, honey, oak, cloves.
    • Finish
      Medium. Fruits and oak.

  5. Tom na Gruagaich scored this whisky 85 points Connoisseur

I like it good, fruity, robust and straightforward. I like the 14er a bit better, the sherry influence is more noticeable there.
    • Nose
Fresh, fruity, light, tropical fruit, slightly alcoholic, will become gentler with time, honey, a beautiful oak note.
    • Taste
Strong, crisp, fresh, fruity, sweet and sour, citrus zest, some oak. Very robust and direct.
    • Finish
Mouth-filling, first bitter oak, then a few fruit and honey tones, citrus and in the end again a slight bitterness of oak and some orange peel.

Pleasant sweet and fresh fruity whisky with a 'bite'. Reasonably full taste.
    • Nose
Fruity, citrus, orange peel, apricot, pineapple. Fresh. Sweet, honey. What sherryvat influence. Caramel too. Later even gumball-sweetness, and vanilla.
    • Taste
Firm, stimulating, peppery. Sweet, apricot, honey.
    • Finish
Medium, light pepper, peach, apricot, honey. Dry, slightly bitter undertone, wood influences. Later also something floral.

im no big arran fan because of that "citrus disinfectant wet wipe" thing. Big plus is that beautiful apricot note
    • Nose
gentle sherry influence, orange, zest, ripe apricots, ripe ananas, malt, typical arran citrus note from wet wipe or disinfectant, alcohol, a little briny
    • Taste
intense apricots, touch of sherry, aromatic oak, again malt, oat, boozy, grape seed oil, creamy, "dense"
    • Finish
fruity with oak and grain, alcohol is still present

  9. vojt466 scored this whisky 83 points Expert Senior

The price / performance ratio is slightly detrimental to this bottle.
    • Nose
Salt, sea, scent of cakes, flowers, citrus. After the addition of water mainly flower tones.
    • Taste
Bitter fruit sweet (currants, unripe grapes), vanilla, salt, alcohol, spice. In the end, more and more turns to a certain salinity. After the water has been added to the sweet acid.
    • Finish
Blackberries, spices, light woody. With water slightly creamy finish
