A legend of dram. Here I realized what awesome stuff they do at Clynelish. Absolute benchmark dram.
    • Nose
      92 92
Very tangy and fruity citrus aromas, splashing lemon juice when peeling, plus slightly waxy and dry mineral notes, lemon zest, slightly grassy
    • Taste
      91 91
Citrus fruits and grassy notes dominate at first, creamy waxiness, then there is also a little alcoholic pressure, tangy, lemony and slightly dry
    • Finish
      89 89
Relatively short finish, but nicely spicy, mineral and citrus-heavy, invites you to take the next sip

First nose very fruity, on the apple and the pear in syrup. A little vanilla to decorate. Mint, vegetal notes. Nothing toffee. In the mouth, more austere than expected, integration of alcohol perfectible. Final a little waxy. With water, aaaaaah. You will take a little fruit in the nose, sir? With pleasure ! The alcohol is silent and a certain sweetness appears. In swallowing, sweet spices that give way to beautiful fresh fruits in the finish, including fishing.

    Enthusiasm 4/5

n: nicely fruity and slightly beeswaxy, very mouth watering and fresh.
as for fruit we got lemons and mandarins.  it becomes more coastal the
longer you let it breathe but the fruity side is always there. some peaches were
thrown in when I didn´t look. and there is a hint of icecream wafers (vanilla)
        very nice!
t:  wow, lovely fruity attack with some additional apricots and even more peaches.
a little beeswax, vanilla and a little honey. hints of candied ginger.
f:  medium, slightly gingery, still fruity. slightly cardboardy in the very end
and that is the only flaw of this whisky
comments: recommended, very good price for what you get (but don´t expect
too much complexity in this one.

As for the Hogshead and 17 years is a fairly mild whisky, but well balanced and I had fun drinking it :)
    • Nose
Delicately fruity, lemon, aromas of glue, smoky notes.
    • Taste
Oak, vanilla, herbs, honey, a little dried apricots, lemons, peat.
    • Finish
      Medium long, sweet

    A wonderful, well-matured Clynelish
with a typical profile. One of the most refreshing malts you can
    • Nose
      Refreshingly sour. Lemon rind, wax,
some heather and a hint of peat. A minute later the fruit comes to
the foreground: rhubarb, apples, apricots. A salty and mineral
grassiness provides the profile with backbone and power. It's a
lively whisky and a textbook Clynelish with its unctuous complexity.
After a while it gets maltier and sweeter, with touches of marzipan.
It's already very accessible and does not need water.
    • Taste
Excellent. Malty, fruity, sour and peaty. Sour
dough with sea salt, lemon slices, freshly drawn ale, heather and
baked apples with sultanas and brandy. The mixture of vanilla, apple,
mango and grassy flavors one can find while eating a cherimoya. A
great full texture, extremely drinkable. The strength is perfect and
the development reaches wonderfully wide over the whole palate.
    • Finish
      Long, refreshing, mineral. Vanilla
custard with grated lemon rind, a delicious bitterness and a pinch of
