  1. Dramming Dutchman scored this whisky 85 points Connoisseur

Not bad but not a high roller either. For retail about 75 euro I would let this one pass.

At first 83 but after only 1 drop of water it opened up and became much, much better on the nose.

A second chance under pressure from friends. The nose is very mustard like. And it continues to acetone. Weird rotting meat. If you like it, it's okay. Taste and aftertaste remain well.

I found this a great macduff, a delicious sip and was very happy with it. Until I had a table with some friends during a tasting and one of the friends started talking about the very present smell of this whisky. Then the nose changed something for me: (

  5. recursiewhisky did not rate this whisky Expert Senior

Ok, first things first: it was matured in a sherry butt but by the lack of sherry influences I get the feeling this was a re-re-fill of just a very inactive cask. The main theme of this dram is berries and boiled sweet’s and don’t get me wrong these aromas are lovely. I just expected some more sherry influences.
All in all an interesting candy store whisky.
    • Nose
A fresh, sweet and fruity whisky with aromas of solvents (Glue (Velpon), acetone), berries, hay, wet rope, grains, malt, honey, floral tones (orange blossom), apple, pear, white chocolate, caramel, metallic tones, boiled sweets (and lot’s of it), citrus, stale tones, pine resin, saw dust and fresh oak.
    • Taste
A powerful, sweet and fresh whisky with aromas of solvents, boiled sweets, berries, apple, pear, white pepper, chili, banana peel, lemon peel, icing sugar, vanilla, subtle spices (clove, cinnamon, ginger), hint of salt, wood shavings, saw dust, grape seeds and fresh oak.
    • Finish
A medium long and sweet finish with aromas of boiled sweets, icing sugar, fresh fruits, chili, ginger and a hint of oak.

Lots and lots of aceton in the begining.
