- Nice Clynelish, was an early dram in a flight to get palate going.
- Clynelish 1997, 16 years, 48% alc.
Bottler: Distiller's Art (Langside Distillers)
Extension: Bourbon barrel
Region: Highlands, Scotland Nose: Summer apples, unripe pears and dried apricots in whipped cream. a lot of woody spices, some sea salt and a pinch of mild pepper. With some time the apples become drier, in addition comes the aroma of meadow flowers and hay. Palate: Very sweet, again with the apples. Add mango and a splash of lime juice. Next to it again the woody spice, some sparkling oak with light bitter substances. In addition, salt and anise. Finish: Sweet, oily and spicy, but quite long. Sweet anise sweets. Conclusion: Wonderful whisky, which optimally combines sweetness and spices. 87/100 points (tasted 2015, approx. 80 €)
I thank the importer (prowhisky) for sample and photo!
