Nice mixture of typical Highland ingredients and coastal influence. Give this some attention and be patient, because you will be rewarded with a beautiful and quite unique sherried single malt.

The sherry kicks in fairly quick, and mingles with notes of fresh salty sea air. Some sulphuric notes appeared to me when the bottle was open for a while, but these stay on the pleasant side. Furthermore, fruitiness (apples and pears), fresh white wine and white grape juice, some fresh floral notes, buttery creaminess, and a touch of smoke. However, the sherry is never far away, and seems to be more of the Pedro Ximinez (PX) kind. Water brings out more of the fruitiness, with additional notes of cranberries, red berries, unripe melon and a light whiff of strawberries.

Light, but with substance. A mix of typical Highland features with a palette of earthiness, malt, buttery cream, and floral notes. Typical is the briny undercurrent, which reminds me really of passing my tongue over my lips after a summer day’s swim in the sea. Dry fruitiness, which is slightly acidic, like a not too sweet fresh white wine. Gets better and fuller when the bottle has been opened for a while.

      Sherry, brine and white wine.

Quite delicious. Especially this uncompromising maltiness pleases me well. A nice standard
    • Nose
Grain, malt, some citrus flavors, vanilla, toffee, caramel
    • Taste
Grainy, vanilla, malt, black tea, a little salty and toffee, then a bit bitter
    • Finish
The bitterness always gives way to the malty which lasts a long time

A very good whisky to start in this vast world, where finesse is master word, neophytes, go. But ... Too small and without complexity, on the meaning of the limit of 40 °. The floral identity of the Highland is there on a rather nice nose but a mouth that must not If it had to be given a subjective rating, it would be an 80. Objective: 85
    • Nose
Dress or yellow, loud noise, fine and fast. A very sweet nose on white flowers, violet, acacia honey, a sweet smoked, the worst honey, apricot. A slight maritime influence is salty. A sweet but, but salivating. One feels all the same that it lacks power. Everything is so discreet ....
    • Taste
Lightweight! On paprika, flower honey, white flowers, violet, vanilla apricot. It is necessary to be insistent to identify the aromas.
    • Finish
The finish is short on a salty / bitter floral.

A young, raw comrade, the flavors are pronounced but not well structured. The strong pepper in the end also shows youth.
Edit: Even after weeks in the open bottle no improvement. The malt tastes like sour beer. One of the worst I have ever had in the glass.
    • Nose
Malt, yeast, brioche, apples, salt spray, cider, bananas, vanilla, honey, strong aroma appearance
    • Taste
Oily-buttery, lots of malt sweetness, lots of yeast, tastes like beer, lots of oatmeal, cider, bananas, a touch of dark chocolate, slightly salty, at the end very peppery, pulpy, no tension in the mouth - tastes like sour beer, more and more ,
    • Finish
sweet and spicy, malt and yeast, oatmeal, apples, black pepper

This drop has no sag, the 40% do not mind. Wonderful whisky as great barrels at a great price. For herring fishermen and other sailors for warming the soul very suitable!
    • Nose
Apples, light honey, malt, almond bitterness, also some wood in the background, gives a wonderfully intense smell
    • Taste
everything is oil-like, a pinch of salt gives character
    • Finish
In addition to all this, some licorice, some raisins, some vanilla, with fine spices (including cinnamon) tasted
