    A nice single grain
best drunk with a cube of ice (I know, I know) when the sun shines or neat on a
    chilly autumn night.
    • Nose
      The nose is
honeysweet as is to be expected from a single grain. Loads of vanilla and lemon
zest. Toffee and some coconut, but also a basket full of almonds. A bit
spicy. I would say rye bread. Warm custard.
    • Taste
      It is wonderfully
creamy on the palate with a wonderful spiciness that warms the mouth. Then the
tastes arrive that I have just discovered as aromas on the nose. Vanilla
custard and coconut (make that coconut milk) return. It reminds me of the
better bourbon, in fact. Especially the spices.
    • Finish
      On the (somewhat
short) finish, the lemon zest returns, followed by the almond. But those
      spices! Those speak the longest.

very sweet and tasty, quite soft, strongly reminiscent of bourbon and can easily compete with the better of its price range (here: ~ 30 €)
    • Nose
soft & sweet, honey, vanilla pudding, caramel
    • Taste
buttery-sweet, creamy, again a lot of vanilla, caramel, then roasted sugar, a little bit bitter and spicy (ginger?)
    • Finish
      medium long, bittersweet

Blindly I would have guessed a bourbon straight away.
Nose, taste and finish are very reminiscent of a bourbon.
It is quite tasty and easy to drink.
    Great price / performance ratio.

100% corn silage consistently aged 5 years in two fresh bourbon barrels, the output is mainly bourbon barrels, very weak presence of corn, mainly in flavor, empty taste, more saturated finish, again purely bourbon, in the end not particularly interesting , but there are no horrors here either - it's possible to drink in pure form, but the Africans' single is very much better.
    • Nose
Open, moist, very simple, surprisingly little corn, mostly derived from bourbon barrels - vanilla, light coniferous tones and pickled cucumbers with grape leaves, a little boiled condensed milk, only in the background light corn shades and general sweetness and butteriness.
    • Taste
Oily, harsh, re-strong influence of fresh bourbon barrels - oak, pitch, light coniferous tones, a small peppery wave, quite empty in general.
    • Finish
Pepper-oily, oak, grapefruit crust, again, even the corn is not felt, very weak popcorn notes.

Nose is full of sweet almonds/marzipan.Very sweet, like a liqueur, initial taste.

Feels smooth and has a rather typical grain taste in the finish.

Price/Taste ratio is good, I can recommend it to any whiskylover for the price I paid for it (smth around 27 Euro).

Evanescent smoke tip, then caramel, warm fruits that slowly emerge, as well as a hint of citrus and wood. In the mouth, touch of salt. Touch relatively light. Balanced aromas, slightly fruity. Suspicion of wood. Final quite short. He has all of a Scotch for a South African! Enthusiasm 3/5

A surprising amount of taste for a grain whisky with the sweetness of the bourbon cask coming through - a long lingering after taste.

Sometimes referred to as a five year old [whiskybase!], it’s technically a NAS grain with a maturation length of between 4-5 years. Bain’s website states: ‘We first mature it [Bain’s single grain] in first-fill bourbon casks for a period of three years, we then transfer it to a second set of first-fill bourbon casks for a further 18 to 30 months’. N: After the rough old-styled yet likaeble Cameron Brig WB, we are back to clean & modern, young, vanillin territory. The nose centres around sour, vanilla-coconut ice-cream, toffee, creme brulee [mainly the eggy/vanilla body], and a generous slice of Victoria sponge - so thats plenty of C8H8O3 being thrown out/extracted from the casks. Water brings out more of the wood itself and a little spice. Carbs wise, there’s something savoury in-between ready salted crisps and biscuits - [Carr’s] table water & [McVitie’s] digestives
T: Innocuous delivery, but pleasing nevertheless - everything is just so, which is another way of saying flawless. The spirit talks of soft, sour cream before moving towards sweeter, vanilla single-cream.
F: Those bourbon casks have lots to say, both the oak itself and the sweet bourbon extract.
C: This is decent, young, modern grain whisky, no messing. I reckon it could give the Greenore 8yo a run for it’s money. Let’s see WB.
