Whisky Reviews for Caol Ila 12-year-old
6 users have left a review for this whisky and scored it an average of 83.80 points
- Very nice, sweet, flowery soft. Maybe a bit too sweet. Very long finish.
- An Islay Standard Malt - well done - not cheap!
Unfortunately colored and cool filtered!
phenolic, aromatic smoke, full sweetness, citrus fruits (lime, pear);
a soft, full, sweet onset, dry smoke, citrus fruit, vanilla, spice (pepper); oily, velvety and tasty;
rather long, spicy finish, spicy notes;
Juniper. Garden mint. Burnt grass, but soft.
Lightly oily. Soothing at first. Lots of flavour development.
Spicy (nutmeg, pepper). Warming. Very long.
- do not forget that 12 years of caol ila has also "democratize" the SM as lagavulin!
it is easy to access, but indestructible for many people ... who do not drink whisky yet, a good entry in the field! one of the sweetest in peat, with a return of fruit, caramel, milk, sweetness!
