Marder Single Malt Whisky, 3 years, bottled in 2014, original bottling, batch L2014, 43% alc.
Distillery: Marder Edelbrände
Expansion: 3 years in ex port wine barrels
Region: Baden-Württemberg, Germany Nose: Sweet fruit, apples, nectarines and some banana. In addition blackberries and mint. This is followed by malt and walnuts, later unobtrusive spices. Palate: much less fruit, but a creamy sweetness and shortcrust pastry. Then a mix of marzipan and very light chocolate, in addition to the spices, but stronger than in the nose and with oak and cloves. Finish: Midland, confirms the palate. The fruit is completely gone, the oak gets stronger. Conclusion: Young and for the whisky is already very ripe, I'm already positively surprised. 85/100 points (tasted 2015)
I thank the distillery Marder for the rehearsal! published on www.notesofmalt.de
