A really delicious Caol Ila, there is nothing more to add to my notes ...

    23/22/22/22 (89 P)
    • Nose
Pale straw shines in the Premium Snifter, on the glass wall sticks a variety of thick and oily "legs". Wonderfully soft peat aroma blows out of the glass, a subtle mineral smoke note joins in while slightly acidic citrus fruits show up and end in a hint of caramelized sugar. The maritime influences are becoming more and more noticeable, a touch of salty seawater, gust, algae, minimal iodine provide the maritime touch. Above all lies a sweetish sugar note with hints of apricot, green apple and lemon ...
    • Taste
Mild flows the first sip over the tongue before suddenly violent smoke, peat and ash spread in the entire mouth and mercilessly stimulate the salivation. Sharpness penetrates through the unrestrained saliva, black pepper mixes with wood sharpness and extinguishing embers, fly ash spreads on the palate, citrus flavors dissolve from slightly burnt wood elements, roasted hazelnuts swim creamy on the tongue. Herb and dark, the second sip makes its way over the tongue, again peppery sharpness massages the tongue, burnt wood aromas settle on the palate, the saliva is massively stimulated again. Chubby heat pulls through the throat into the stomach, a campfire burns down slowly, the glow goes out, fly ash rises ... Herb and dark wood flavors come to bear, once again glues a creamy and greasy film on the tongue, hazel and walnuts from the intense wood tones, dark fruit flavors emerge. Grilled peaches and apricots, hints of raisins and abrasion of orange peel ends in sour citrus flavors, minimal tart grapefruit on the tongue.
    • Finish
The chubby heat sounds, as well as the intense and peppery sharpness. Smoky wood elements still stick to the tongue, oily and greasy, the ashes are only minimally visible on the palate. Slightly salty come to the end again maritime tones to the fore before the tasty finish is coming to an end.
