Whisky Reviews for Invergordon 1988 HL
5 users have left a review for this whisky and scored it an average of 84.00 points
- Decent version of a grain whisky but, in comparison to similar vintage from other bottlers, not quite up to the task IMHO.
- N: Smells like a standard old grain, varnish, pepper and herbals with a touch of white spirit and vanillas. Smells good upfront.
T: Creamy, rubbery sweet with lots of wood which gets hot, very hot for a while. Toasted vegetables, onions and rhubarb possibly with fennel seeds?, and bitter dark chocolate.
F: Bitter, toasted & dried vanilla pods with bitter cocoa powder and a milky conclusion.
C: Some off-key notes with heat but its on the right lines. Back in the oven for another 15 [years] please.
