  1. schengel10 scored this whisky 66 points Connoisseur

    A young, slightly smoky but clearly overpriced malt without age. Average!
    • Nose
      gentle smoke, cooling, mint, pear, a little vanilla;
    • Taste
      mild, soft onset, sweet, fruity (apples, pears), pleasant smoke, pastries, not so complex, obvious youth;
    • Finish
      short, sweet, fruity finish, slightly smoky finish;

  7. Marko_I did not rate this whisky Connoisseur

    Glenturret jumps with a NAS on the peat train, a hammer does not come out, but he is not bad, I think the overall impression quite likeable and if it's a little less smoke, I would definitely resort to this again.
    • Nose
      mild and creamy, fairly fresh, green apple, grass, vanilla, light sweetness, the peat influence is clear, but difficult to classify, something between old paper / paperboard, railroad tie and farm
    • Taste
      soft, creamy, very sweet, peat more restrained, towards leather / earth
    • Finish
      short, sweet, a bit musty

    the finish is bad, the taste is not unpleasent, but it's flat. 40% is not enough for such a young peated distillate. The nose promised a little more. not recommended! go for the regular 10yo instead, which is a flawless, well made whisky.
    • Nose
      soft peat, baby powder, icing sugar, crème brûlée, boskoop apple, some minerals, say flint stone, younger than the regular 10yo
    • Taste
      very soft, icing sugary, creamy, light body, little development
    • Finish
      short, some cardboard stays longer unfortunately. no, the finish is really bad. the longer the worse.

  10. Falnor scored this whisky 66 points Connoisseur

    Not recommended for heavy peat lovers or others...
    • Nose
      Lots of apples with added sugar. Pudding, custard and vanilla make sure it's all about cream and sweetness. Cake and biscuits but not the 'peated' edition I thought. Perhaps some burned leaves and toast.
    • Taste
      A bit sharp and peppery for 40% at first, but soon after cream and again this apple and sugar combo. Still the apples turn a bit sour.  Also more malt and grains. Slight metallic feeling. A hint of peat.
    • Finish
      Sweet and sour. Longer as expected, but not in a very pleasant way.
