I have to say it is really on the edge to become artificial but I think it is still on the good side
    • Nose
Very intense notes of burnt sugar, caramel, vanilla, fried bananas, coconut, little solvent, woody notes, really a bit candy like
    • Taste
Oily, fruity, cooked oranges resp. orange liquor, good sweetness, hints of vanilla, menthol, eucalyptus
    • Finish
Medium long, warm, still fruity and caramel

Various sources from the time the bottle was released note that the barrel used was American White Oak:

Revising per post of tokyolife. This is American White Oak, apparently, as are the recent releases Wakatsuru, which also have a pronounced sandalwood note. At any rate, I'm not sure what the origins are of that somewhat exotic note, but it is certainly a plus.

This bottling also has a generous amount of tannins, but the spirit is not overwhelmed.Nose: Vanilla, apricot, sandalwood, spice, red licorice

Palate: Resinous and spicy with notes of banana, peppermint, and white pepper; with water, mandarin oranges and cardamon come to the fore, with a peppery, resinous finish
