The smell is wonderful, a whisky that shows that even without sherry casks a deep intensity and fullness is possible. That excites me. The taste does not disappoint, honey, vanilla and almond are the dominant impressions, behind it is always the oak. A very mature and intense whisky that does not have to hide from any sherry representative - quite the contrary.

    blind tasting
So you can be wrong. Whatever that was for a sherry keg, I was absolutely sure that this whisky came from a bourbon barrel. From whatever barrel - he is delicious.
    • Nose
A lot of vanilla, a little alcohol. Let me stop it ... So, better now, the alcohol has disappeared, the intense vanilla remains, a bit of mellow yellow apple, a lot of spicy oak, caramel, a little almond, honey, some earth, a touch of harsh orange
    • Taste
Velvety soft body, medium ingress, very slightly adringierend, sweet, again honey, a little orange, milk chocolate, a little bit bitter, intense, now again a little apple, surprisingly also some acidity
    • Finish
Delicate oak and again vanilla, malt, honey and almonds again, long

Nose and taste are quite outstanding. The final metallic tickling on the tongue may be a bit irritating, but does not affect the overall positive impression. These spices, which came in the nose after some time ... very tasty.
    • Nose
Velvety is what comes first to my mind. Velvety, sweet and fruity with a touch of ginger in the background. About two hours ago I had a Redbreast 21 in the glass and at the beginning of the nosing he smelled like the echo of the redbreast - or an older tea. But no, the similarity fades, the sweet fruits (red apples, ripe pears, oranges, red grapes) become weaker, leather notes come along with spices like nutmeg, lovage, cardamom, cumin / cumin.
    • Taste
Mild and very creamy at the beginning. Then it spreads out in the mouth and covers the tongue with the spices from the nose, becomes stronger. Oak flavors come very soon and mingle with the spices, tobacco leaves and old leather from the side. Grated almonds and hazelnuts, a fresh yeast dough, now also cinnamon, cloves and coriander. Fruity, yes, but less sweet than in the nose, the spices and the oak flavors.
    • Finish
Medium to short and dry quickly. Beautiful blend of spices and a berry mix made from blackberries, wild strawberries and currants. On the tip of the tongue a light metallic tickle.
