I like the Taliskers with age statement. What the 18 looses on the 10 in oomph, it gains in finish and overall composition. Maybe I like the DIst.Ed.’s even better? Nevertheless, this is a nice one. Can take some water, but is perfectly pallatable neat. When at a reasonable price: buy!
Medium heavy. Brine. Iodine. Mineral: clay(?). Lemon oil. Crayons. Fresh open fire in the background, not overt.
With water light-medium. Sweet-sour fruit: Overripe, peeled and cut, preserved in fruit-juice. Much oranges. Savoury herbs. Bbq sauce. Tangy wood. Small open fire.
Warm, oily, sweet-sour arival. Long development starts intense with smoke and salt. Develops into warm, juicy citrusfruit.
With water it is a hot , dry arrival. The development goes from sweet-sour to sweet-bitter citrus and continuous chili peppers.
The finish is a continuation of the taste and gives a dry mouthfeel
