This isn't going to change your life, but it's a very drinkable dram... surprisingly so. Water doesn't bring much to the table.
The nose really leads this one! Loads of that Clynelish fruit, not so much the wax notes. It smells dry, almost chalky and minerally. Pears and white grapes, maybe some stone fruit like apricot or nectarines, but it fades quickly.
Wow, fireworks... Chalk and sharp apricot jam notes. I see the chili and cocoa bean coming in here now.... White pepper spice and thin oilyness in the mouth. Lots of heat, warming heat like good cayenne pepper and a subtle blend of peach skins, grapes and dates. Tasty, but it's noticeably dropping off here.
This is where i'm lost on it. It finished the palate and passed only dry cocoa, pink pepper fruits and cayenne warmth off to the finish. There's not a lot else going on, some general oak and fruit notes... but it's mostly gone.
