The interesting thing about Forty Creek Distillery (KIttling Ridge Estate Wine and Spirits) is its direct link with wine making. The distillery is very much integrated in the winery. Want to know more? Buy and read 'Canadian Whiskey' by Davin de Kergommeaux. A must have for the whiskey geek!

The nose starts quite gingery intermingled with buttery oak. Sweet barley. After a while dried fruits of figs and dates come through. Glace cherries. Also ripe oranges. Hints of caramel and toffee at the background.
-
Syrupy mouthfeel with some pithy citrus peel. Lots of prunes and plums. Stewed apples. The port wood bitter-sweetness is clearly present. Molasses. Some association with rum-raisins as well.

Medium long. Dark fruit sweetness and cinnamon. Tawny port.
